Dear Santa,
I
want a Barbie -- there’s a new one this year, with a really
sharp-styled haircut (and dark hair) and wearing a “little black
dress.” She would look really cool standing beside my ’60’s Barbie and
“Elvis.” Or my Star Trek or Lucille Ball Barbies also.
I
desperately want an iPad 2. I don’t know why, I don’t need one
particularly. But man, playing Angry Birds on that size screen would be
really, really awesome.
I need a lot of quilting stuff as well.
There’s this fantastic new fabric I’ve seen in a magazine -- peacock
blue with spectacular blue, green and gold peacocks -- big ones --
scattered about. I don’t know what I’d do with it, but...
And
Santa, we’ve come through a couple really serious health crises the
past month or so. I’d really, really like to avoid any more of these
for a bit. I think a rut would be a nice place to be stuck for a while!
Another
thing I’d really like is to be able to get everything my youngest
granddaughter has asked for. That’s not humanly possible, so I think
I’m going to send you her letter and let you take care of it. Just a
warning, she wants an iPad 2 also!
And while you’re at it, please
think of something for Pop. He’s the hardest person in the world to buy
for. He has pretty much everything he needs (and wants), but the
“other” things he wants or needs, he keeps to himself. How do I know he
wants some kind of new gun or whatever? I’m thinking he needs a fat,
wiggly, solid black puppy that has the tiniest tip of white on his tail!
At lunch Tuesday, Barry said the prayer for Pam’s birthday lunch we were enjoying. One thing really struck me --
“Help us spread good cheer throughout this season.”
I guess that means I have to stop being grumpy. And isn’t good cheer a wonderful thought!
Thank you Santa!
“Peace and goodwill to
you and yours!”
