two H.W. Byers seniors signed Division I college basketball
scholarships Thursday in the school library. Hardaway will play for
Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn., and Gulledge for

Lady Lions, Devils get wins in rivalry By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor The
teams at H.W. Byers made their first homestand of the new season
Tuesday night of last week. They met a neighbor from down the road but
in a different county. The Lady Lions were 3-0 after a successful road campaign. Full Story
State championship DVDs from Lady Lions’ season on sale Documentary DVDs from the H.W. Byers Lady Lions’ state championship season of 2010-2011 are now available. The cost is $10 each. The DVDs are available from coach Jason Thompson at H.W. Byers High School. Proceeds
from the sale of the DVDs will go toward the purchase of state
championship rings for the members of the H.W. Byers girls basketball
team. The DVD, produced by Ben Guest, follows the
Lady Lions from pre-season practice all the way to the Class 1A state
championship game, where they beat Coldwater.
