What follows are the Prescriptive Specifications for executing the Technology Component of Work for the Ida B. Wells-Barnett Museum Technology project.
This building has been designated by the State of Mississippi through the Department of Archives and History as a Mississippi Landmark and that all work should be in accordance with the Mississippi Antiquities Law (39-007-et.al. of the Mississippi Code, 1972, as amended) and the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
1. All General Contractors and/or their sub-contractors bidding for work on this project shall provide evidence of past successful experience in working with historic properties.
2. All General Contractors and/or their sub-contractors contracted to execute work on this project shall familiarize themselves with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
Deadline for receiving bids/quotes is Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 12:00 Noon. Bids/quotes will be opened on that date and time. Quotes are for purchase.
You may pick up a copy of the bid/quote form and inspect the museum premises at 220 N. Randolph Street, Holly Springs, MS 38635, where the equipment will be installed, by contacting the Curator of the museum or his/her designee by calling 662-252-3232.
Ida B. Wells Museum reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.
Local Genealogy Room
Five computer work stations will be installed in the SE and SW corners of this room; General Contractor to submit cabinetwork product samples and allowances for computer desks with privacy dividers and (1) one utility drawer at each station review and approval.
All computers will have Internet capabilities, allowing museum patrons ready access to worldwide resources dedicated to genealogical and historical research.

Purchase * six (6) Dell Windows 7, or equal workstations with 20” monitors and wifi capabilities w/ minimum 16GB memory - one of these should be a lap-top, to be installed in the Office.
Purchase one (1) Wireless type N Router.
Purchase one (1) NAS (network attached storage): 8TB Seagate, or equal.
Purchase one (1) Okidata, or equal high capacity multifunction black/white and color copier and scanner system; verify with Owner if additional B/W and color network printer are needed.
Purchase tower server w/ minimum of 64GB memory 6TB HD.
Purchase one flat-screen monitor mounted on portable cabinet - submit cabinetwork product samples and allowances for review and approval; verify size of monitor needed with Owner.
Purchase eight (8) port switch.
5. Family Tree Maker for Windows x 6 licenses.
6. Ancestry.com - 6 licenses x $500, renewed annually - verify actual quantity needed with Owner prior to ordering subscriptions..
7. Microsoft Office 2010 Pro (Home & Student) x 6.
Symantec Norton or Kapersky Antvirus & backup w/ internet security x 6 licenses.
DSL subscription x 12 - verify with Owner if 12 or 6 are needed prior to ordering subscriptions.
Auditorium/Exhibition (Orientation) Room
A flat-screen monitor will be installed in a console cabinet on the east wall, between the two front windows, with an ability to raise and retract screen into console cabinet. General Contractor to submit cabinetwork product sample and allowance for review and approval.
Products descriptive specification and prospective costs
Purchase one (1) large flat-screen monitor w/RJ45 connection; the clearance between window trim is 55 1/2 “ - this monitor is to be networked to Office computer.
Purchase one DVD player.
Purchase one VHS-DVD converter.
Provide an allowance for cost for setting up all systems.
Provide a proposed cost for training Ida B. Wells Museum personnel.
Provide an allowance for a maintenance period and fixed costs for additional services.
Conclusion: General Contractor will provide basic electrical services needed and submit samples of noted cabinetwork and allowances for review and approval to Owner.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Separate sealed bids for construction of Taxiways and T-Hangar Improvements, Project No. MM-0033-0212, will be received by the Holly Springs – Marshall County Airport Board, at the Marshall County Industrial Development Authority, located at 520 J. M. Ash Drive, Holly Springs, MS 38635 until 1:00 P.M. December 20, 2011, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bidders must qualify under Mississippi Law and have a Certificate of Responsibility.

Bids must be submitted on the standard form of bid proposal, and the successful bidder will be required to execute the standard form of Contract Agreement, together with a 100% Performance Bond and Payment Bond, within ten (10) days after formal award of the contract.
Bids may be held by the Board for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the bid and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
The Marshall County Industrial Development Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any and all information in the best interest of the Owner.
