November 2

• ANNUAL SENIOR CITIZENS’ DAY will be held at Emory Independent Methodist Church, 12 noon. Guest speaker and musician will be Rev. Creighton White from the Coy UMC, Preston. The “Shot Nurse” will be here to give flu and B1 shots for those who wish to receive one.

• FALL REVIVAL will be held November 2, 3 and 4 at Jones Grove Church, 7 p.m. nightly. Pastor Charles Gillipse and The New Mt. Gilliam Church will be guests. The public is invited.

• REVIVAL Community Temple, Mt. Zion Road, will have a revival November 2-4, 7:30 p.m. nightly. The guest pastor will be Clint Gipson. Host pastor is Frank Moore, 851-0973.

November 3

• HUNTER SAFETY CLASS will be held Nov. 3-4, 6-9 p.m., and Nov. 5, 8 a.m. until at the Potts Camp High School. Bring your Social Security number and you must be 10 years of age to be certified. Call 662-840-5172 to register.

November 4

• CRAFTS FAIR Arkabutla Baptist Church will have a crafts fair November 4-5, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Arkabutla Community Center. For booth information call 562-6076.

• Rummage sale, Watson Fire Dept., Nov. 4-5, 8-2 p.m. Rain or shine! Bring your bag sale Fri. and Sat. The proceeds go to the Watson Fire Dept Building Fund. We are still in the same place, 121 Watson Road, next door to the Watson Fire Dept, at the old Watson Saddle Club.

November 5

• SINGING Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church, half a mile south of Goodman Road on Cayce, will have a singing at 7 p.m. with Bro. Eddie Gordon as featured guest. Pastor Billy Watkins invites all.

• Judo demonstration Nov. 5, 9 a.m. at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building on Memphis Street. Lucious Johnson will be demonstrating and presenting information on judo and judo classes to be held at the multi-purpose center. Registration will be open for those interested in joining a judo class.

• YARD SALE Mt. Pisgah CME Church will have a fund-raiser yard sale at 3877 Cayce Road. To rent space call 662-851-7090 or 901-864-3127. Set-up time is 6:30 a.m.

• SINGING Chewalla Baptist Church will have a singing featuring the Downs Family from Booneville. Fellowship meal will be at 6 p.m. and singing at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.

• SALE Holy Family School, West Street, will have a Christmas-Winter Sale, 8 a.m.-12 noon. They will have winter coats, sweaters, bedding, household items, clothes, shoes – all ages and sizes.

November 6

• ANNIVERSARY Jones Grove Choir will celebrate their anniversary with a program beginning at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited.

• 37TH ANNIVERSARY: The West Holly Springs Singing Union will celebrate their 37th anniversary Sun., Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. The celebration will be held at Smith Grove M.B. Church. Min. Elliott Dean, member of Mt. Moriah M.B. Church, under the leadership of Pastor R.L. Wilson, will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited. Pastor Van L. Rayford, president.

• Homecoming services will be held at Holly Hill Baptist Church beginning at 6 p.m. Bro. Earl Farley will be preaching the morning service. Featured singers will be Still Blessed and the Rick Martin family. Pastor Robert Seal and church family invite everyone to attend.

• Mother Board of Hopewell #1 M.B. Church is sponsoring a program at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Denise Anders Modest and Anderson Chapel CME Church will be the guests as well as the general public. Evangelist will be Doris Williamson, president of the Mother Board. Rev. Leroy James, host pastor.

• SERVICES Tabernacle of Prayer Church will host its 33rd Founder’s Day appreciation services honoring and recognizing Elder Jeremiah and Mother Hazel LeSueur, at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Octavis Allen and New Dimension Salt & Light Ministries will be the special guests. • MEETING The November meeting of the board of trustees of the Holly Springs School District has been scheduled for 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the HSHS library, 165 N. Walthall Street.

• MEETING Free Branch M.B. Church will host the Baptist Ministerial Alliance meeting at 9 a.m. The community is invited. Pastor is J.L. Tunstall.

• Singing New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy. 72 and Valentine Road, Slayden, Saturday night, Nov. 12, starting at 7 p.m. Featured group will be The Barnetts from Stanton, Tenn. Fellowship supper after the singing. Bro. Billy Adair and congregation invite everyone to attend.

• HARVEST DAY Finley Grove MB Church, Hwy. 7 North, will have a Harvest Day Program at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Robert Bowers and True Faith of Piperton, Tenn., will be special guests. Pastor is Rev. James Green; chairperson is Joyce Brown.

• ANNIVERSARY The Silver Stars will celebrate their 43rd anniversary at the Baptist Association Building, 6 p.m. M.C. will be Bro. Dexter Shipp. Groups included in program are The Dynamic Angels, Faithful Few, Mallory Boys, Gospel Travelers, Hudson Singers, Faithful Singers of New Albany, Waller Singers of Como, The Great Wings of Joy, Annointed Spiritualettes, Twilight Singers, Stars of Faith, Harmoniers of Oxford, Golden Echoes of Tupelo, and the Unique Authority of Marion, Ark. Donation at the door is $7.

• ANNIVERSARY Kimbrough Church will have the Luellen Gospel Singers Anniversary at 2:30 p.m. Rev. J.W. Smith Jr. invites all.

• REVIVAL Mt. Comfort CME Church will host a Fall Revival, Sunday, Oct. 13-Tues., Nov. 15, 7 p.m. each night. The theme is “Reaching The Masses.” The guest evangelist is Pastor Jeffery Daniel of White Hill M.B. Church in Tupelo. The host pastor is Rev. Charles Penson.

• Annual Harvest Day will be held at Pleasant Hill CME Church, Mt. Pleasant, 2:30 p.m. The guests will be Rev. Calvin Rayborn and the Liberty Hill MB Church of Byhalia. Rev. Willie Hoey, pastor, invites everyone.

• A Mentoring Brunch for young men and boys, ages 14 and up, will be held at Pleasant Hill CME Church, 10:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Bro. Albert Josiah from Memphis. Pastor Willie Hoey invites everyone.

November 15

• New meeting place The Humane Society of Marshall County would like to announce our new meeting place: our Adoption Center on Eddie L. Smith Drive. Even though our meeting space is only half finished, we are proud to announce we have enough completed that we can now have our monthly meetings there. November 19

• ANNUAL FALL HARVEST DINNER will be held at Emory Independent Methodist Church. Sunday School will begin at 9:45 a.m., worship service at 11 a.m. and dinner following service. Everyone is invited.

• MISSIONARY PROGRAM Hebron Chapel CME Church, 2827 Hernando Road, will have their Missionary Program hosted by Linda Mathis, 2:30 p.m. Special speaker will be Rev. Barbara Richardson. Host pastor is Marco Finley. Refreshments will be served.

• APPRECIATION DAY Jones Grove will have an appreciation program for the first lady, Louise Powell at 3 p.m. The public is invited.

• A Night of Music will be held at Pleasant Hill CME Church, Mt. Pleasant, 6 p.m. The youth choir along with other choirs will be in concert. Rev. Willie Hoey, pastor, invites everyone.

November 23

• THANKSGIVING SERVICE will be held at Kimbrough Church, 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Charles Gillespie and New Mt. Gillian Church.

November 27

• MUSICAL PROGRAM will be held at Free Branch M.B. Church beginning at 3 p.m. The community is invited.

• LOVE DAY Bell Grove, Tyro Road in Chulahoma will have their Pastor Love Day for Servant Marvin Lucas Sr. at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Mark Davis and Wyatt Community Church. Everyone is invited.

December 3

• PARADE The Holly Jolly Christmas Parade sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce will begin at 5 p.m. Lineup will be at 3 p.m., judging at 4 p.m. Rain date will be Monday, December 5. For more information or to participate call the HS Chamber, 662-252-2943.

• Recovery Meeting SOS Christian Recovery Ministries will host a group meeting Friday evenings at 6 p.m. The group’s primary focus is drug addiction, alcoholism and the affected families. There will be a group for family members to learn how to cope and heal from the destructive behavior of an addict or an alcoholic in the family.
