OpinionFielder’s Choice Praise to the players I was fortunate Friday night to be on the sideline for a fantastic football game. You might have heard that Marshall Academy hosted Potts Camp in what is believed to be the first varsity football game ever in Marshall County between private and public schools. Close to Nowhere The days are just packed It’s no wonder that as we get older, the days spin by faster and faster. We try to cram everything possible into a day, a weekend, a week — stuff that should be savored and stretched out and enjoyed. Thursday night of last week, Potts Camp School held their annual beauty review. Recognition abounds in Holly Springs Stephanie McKinney The last five years have flown by for me considerably. New to the area, and state, I had a lot to learn but fell in love with Holly Springs as many others have over the years. In reflecting, I realized just how many people see our bright future and help us in celebrating our uniqueness. Letters To The Editor Yes on Initiative 26 We’ve been pounding the pavement, asking folks to vote ‘Yes’ on Initiative 26, to confer personhood on the unborn, under Mississippi law. For the most part, our efforts have been well-received. After all, we are one of the most pro-life states, and we care about human life. But some people are angry. They declare, “The government gives a woman rights over her own body!” Wanting to play devil’s advocate, others will ask, “What if a woman is assaulted? Should she have to keep the baby if it is not wanted?” These are good questions, needing thoughtful answers.
