• CANTATA REHEARSAL The Community Choir will rehearse at 7:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church.

October 27

•MEETING The Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce will have its membership meeting from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Beckley Center, across from Rust College campus in Holly Springs. The former director of Holly Springs Community Development Agency and current director of the Fort Chaffee Redevelopment Authority, Ivy Owen, will be the keynote speaker. Lunch is $10 per person. • Biblical Conference Christ Presbyterian Church, 6860 Craft Rd., Olive Branch, will hold a conference on Biblical Mercy Ministry, Oct. 28, 6-8:45 p.m., with dinner included; and Oct. 29, 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., with breakfast and lunch included. • BANQUET True Vine Missionary Baptist will be having a building fund banquet at 6:30 p.m. There will be preaching and music by various groups, choirs, and solos are welcomed. • FALL FESTIVAL Clear Creek Baptist Church, 1704 Clear Creek Road, Lamar, will have a fall festival, 2 p.m.-7 p.m. There will be games, prizes, bouncer, treats, hot dogs and snacks. Everyone is invited.

• TRUNK OR TREAT Fellowship Baptist Church, 1593 Hwy. 309, Byhalia, will have “Trunk or Treat”, a safe and fun alternative to Halloween, 4-7 p.m. There will be car trunks decorated and full of candy, hay rides, face painting, food and more. • CONCERT The Patterson Singers will be in a musical concert at Foundation of Life Church in Lamar, 7 p.m. The Sand Hill Male Chorus along with Bro. Larry Gatewood and Unity Group from Bolivar, Tenn., will also be there. Elder James T. Patterson is pastor.

• ANNIVERSARY Faith Healing and Deliverance Tabernacle, 28 Tyro Road on Hwy. 4 West, will celebrate Tarsha Mosley’s first year anniversary, 4 p.m.

• PROGRAM The Mt. Sinai C.O.G.I.C. of Mt. Pleasant will have 100 Men in Black Program, 3 p.m. Special guests will be Elder Eugene Anderson and the Brooks Chapel C.O.G.I.C. of Oakland, Tenn. Elder Curtis Pritchard Sr., pastor, invites all.

• TRUNK OR TREAT Red Banks Baptist Church will have their annual Trunk or Treat at 6 p.m. immediately following the evening singing service with Mike DeVore. Everyone is invited. There will be a bon fire and hot dogs for all.

• FALL FESTIVAL will be held at Emory Independent Methodist Church, 5 p.m. We will have cake walks, hay rides, booths and candy.

• PRE-ANNIVERSARY Sand Hill M.B. Church will have a pre-anniversary service for Pastor Etoyl Bogard, 6 p.m. There will be several guest choirs and singers. MC will be David Glass. Climax of the program will be Sunday, November 6, 2 p.m. with Pastor J.W. Smith and Kimbrough Chapel as guests.

• Special service Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 2641 Laws Hill Rd., will hold special fifth Sunday services October 30. • Harvest Festival will be held, hosted by Children’s Super Church of Friendship Assembly of God, 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. The activities for this night are endless with carnival games, inflatables, challenges and so much more. Admission for the evening is one bag of candy per child.

• TRICK OR TREAT The Town of Potts Camp will have their curfew at 10 p.m. and it will be strictly enforced.

November 1

• FRIENDS Robert Patterson, a new associate librarian at the Marshall County Public Library, will be the guest speaker for the Friends of the Library meeting, 11:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served.

November 2

• ANNUAL SENIOR CITIZENS’ DAY will be held at Emory Independent Methodist Church, 12 noon. Guest speaker and musician will be Rev. Creighton White from the Coy UMC, Preston. The “Shot Nurse” will be here to give flu and B1 shots for those who wish to receive one.

• FALL REVIVAL will be held November 2, 3 and 4 at Jones Grove Church, 7 p.m. nightly. Pastor Charles Gillipse and The New Mt. Gilliam Church will be guests. The public is invited.

November 3

• HUNTER SAFETY CLASS will be held Nov. 3-4, 6-9 p.m., and Nov. 5, 8 a.m. until at the Potts Camp High School. Bring your Social Security number and you must be 10 years of age to be certified. Call 662-840-5172 to register.

November 4

• CRAFTS FAIR Arkabutla Baptist Church will have a crafts fair November 4-5, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Arkabutla Community Center. For booth information call 562-6076.

• SINGING Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church, half a mile south of Goodman Road on Cayce, will have a singing at 7 p.m. with Bro. Eddie Gordon as featured guest. Pastor Billy Watkins invites all.

• Judo demonstration Nov. 5, 9 a.m. at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building on Memphis Street. Lucious Johnson will be demonstrating and presenting information on judo and judo classes to be held at the multi-purpose center. Registration will be open for those interested in joining a judo class.

• ANNIVERSARY Jones Grove Choir will celerating their anniversary with a program beginng at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited.

• 37TH ANNIVERSARY: The West Holly Springs Singing Union will celebrate their 37th anniversary Sun., Nov. 6, at 3 p.m. The celebration will be held at Smith Grove M. B. Church. Min. Elliott Dean, member of Mt. Moriah M. B. Church, under the leadership of Pastor R. L. Wilson, will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited. Pastor Van L. Rayford, president.

• New meeting place The Humane Society of Marshall County would like to announce our new meeting place: our Adoption Center on Eddie L. Smith Dr. Even though our meeting space is only half finished, we are proud to announce we have enough completed that we can now have our monthly meetings there. • Recovery Meeting SOS Christian Recovery Ministries will host a group meeting Friday evenings at 6 p.m. The group’s primary focus is drug addiction, alcoholism and the affected families.
