The Potts Camp cross country team competed in the 2011 Southerntees Challenge, hosted by East Union, on Saturday, Oct. 1. The meet was held at the New Albany Sportsplex. There
were schools from 1A to 4A. Schools competing included New Albany,
Senatobia, Amory, Alcorn Centrol, Itawamba, New Site, Belmont, Byhalia,
West Union, East Union, Myrtle, Hickory Flat, Ingomar and Potts Camp. The
Potts Camp boys won first place in Class 2A. Each member of the team
was presented a certificate, and the Cardinals also received a trophy
as overall winner. Individual results follow. •
Varsity Boys – third, Kris Roberts; ninth, Brantley Harris; 19th Ben
Bolden; 20th Jordon Harris; 53rd, Alan Shaw; 55th, Xavion Allen; 58th,
Philip Lemons; 62nd Matthew Harrill; 71st, Hunter Farr; 72nd, Weston
Humphreys; 82nd, Jose Ramirez; and 146th, B.J. Snow. •
Varsity girls – 21st, Amber Cooper; 35th, Anna Summerlin; 36th, Shauna
Haney; 94th, Dana Jeffries; 96th, Jakayla Johnson; 118th, Hailey
Miller; 125th, Zana Davis; 134th, Tenesha Woods; and 135th, Taylor
Johnson. The junior high girls ran two and a half miles at the meet. Lori Hendrix finished fifth and Jessica Russom 40th. Finishers
for the Potts Camp junior high boys included – third, Micah Powers;
eighth, Colton Weatherall; 21st, Morgan Moore; 40th, Jacob Harrill;
62nd, Jake Stone; and 76th, Dylan Minor. |
