Camp trailed 9-7 after one quarter but bounced back to lead 20-18 at
intermission. They maintained that two-point lead after three and then
outscored West Union 10-7 in the fourth. Zana Davis added 10 points in the five-point win. The Lady Cards improved to 9-11 overall. Points were hard to come by in the nightcap as the Potts Camp boys turned back West Union 39-22. “They
(West Union) slowed it down some, and we had not played in a week (due
to snow and ice),” coach Shawn Holtz said. “Our shots were off. It was
a sloppy game. “But we got it going and got the win.” The Cardinals led 7-4 after one quarter and 17-11 at the half. They secured the win with a 15-4 run in the third period. LaJohn Curry had 12 points to lead Potts Camp. The Cards upped their overall season mark to 6-14. Girls vs. N. Panola The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals dropped a 49-45 decision Saturday to North Panola in the “By His Grace Classic” at North Pontotoc. A 15-8 run by North Panola in the second quarter proved to be the difference. Woods scored 19 for Potts Camp (9-12). Zana Davis added 15. |
