Holly Springs police officers respond to assaults, burglaries The Holly Springs Police Department responded to 84 calls from September 19 through September 25. The
calls included – disturbances, 17; domestics, 2; funeral assistance, 4;
alarm calls, 10; larcenies, 4; accidents, 2; burglaries, 3; 911 hang-up
calls, 5; robberies, 2; shots fired, 3; assaults, 2; malicious
mischief, 2; and miscellaneous, 28. The dog catchers responded to six
calls. Police officers took reports on the following. September 19 • Dog bite at West Boundary Avenue and West Valley Street. September 20 • Domestic disturbance in 100 block of South Chesterman Street. • Domestic violence simple assault in the 100 block of West Woodward Avenue. • Identity theft in the 100 block of West Woodward Avenue. •
Possession of controlled substance in the 100 block of West Woodward
Avenue. Subjects were placed on the trespassing and loitering list. • Commercial burglary at Sam Coopwood Park. September 21 • Simple assault in the 500 block of South Maury Street. • Simple assault on Highway 4 East. • Simple assault in the 500 block of South Maury Street. September 22 • Domestic violence simple assault in the 100 block of West Woodward Avenue. September 23 • Malicious mischief in the 200 block of Shelby Drive. • Petit larceny in the 900 block of Mackie Drive. An arrest was made. • Armed robbery in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Drive. September 24 • Residential burglary in the 500 block of Swaney Drive. • Residential burglary in the 300 block of Craft Street. • Armed robbery on Center Street (in the alley). September 25 • Counterfeiting in the 600 block of Highway 7 South. Officers
reported 17 arrests and citations last week, which includes misdemeanor
arrest mentioned previously – speeding 4; no proof of liability
insurance, 1; no/expired driver’s license, 1; careless driving, 1;
contempt, six arrests; driving while license suspended, 1 arrest;
public drunk/disorderly conduct, 1 arrest; petit larceny, 1 arrest;
