Heritage Classic a year older
If the Southern Heritage Classic came into its own at 21 last year then the addition of this year’s offering only solidified the tradition.
To just say “tradition” is a meager way to describe a stellar event which has spanned two decades of providing an almost unmatchable weekend of the highest grade of enjoyment and entertainment. Throngs of thousands make the annual pilgrimage each year to bask in the activities surrounding a collegiate football game.
The game pits two sets of Tigers against each other in a “bragging rights” contest that is hard to rival. The brainchild of Fred Jones Jr. has for many years now been his passion. Each year he urges all participants “to come early, stay late and above all be prepared to enjoy yourselves”.
One could take pages to try and recount all the uplifting activities. Perhaps the greatest advice to offer is – if you have never attended, put it as a “must do” on your calendar for next year.
