Indians stopped by Warriors in ground battle By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor The
Byhalia Indians were on the road last Friday night to what some
consider as the “tip of the Delta.” They engaged the Senatobia Warriors
in a rough ground battle for most of the game. Byhalia
was first over the ball and moved down to the 26. Markeise Rodgers
picked up a first down at the 20 but the ball was fumbled to the

the buffeting from Hurricane Irene and the area not expected to feel
the fury, or suffer the aftermath, was engaged in other pursuits
(mainly football at any level), 202 countries were doing battle in the
IAAF World Track and Field Championships in South Korea in the breezy

Byers drops road game to Mustangs By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor The H.W. Byers Lions left the lair and went to Strayhorn last Friday night for their first road game of the season. They
won the toss and had first possession but had to give it up on downs.
The Byers defense made an early stand and forced the hosts to punt away

MA soccer squad loses 1-0 to Bayou The Marshall Academy soccer squad turned in a stellar defensive performance but fell 1-0 to Bayou Tuesday of last week at home. “The
defense played absolutely amazing,” coach Lance McGregor said. “We had
every player marked and minimized scoring opportunities for Bayou.
