SocietyCity Personals Surprise dinner honors Tammy Cupp on birthday Billy Cupp Jr., Ed Bounds, Christopher Cupp, Tommy Ray and Ronnie Shaw spent time in Chicago Thursday through Sunday last week. Brad Hunsucker flew in from Houston, Tx., to meet up with the group. They were in town to watch the Cardinals-Cubs games. Friday, they watched the game from Wrigley Field. Saturday, the men went to Brixennivy Roof Top to watch the game. Paquita Childers, Melissa Westbrook, Tiffany Babb, all from Oxford, and Susie Murphy surprised Tammy Cupp with a birthday dinner last week. Beverly and Shelby Fitch of Olive Branch, and Becky Cupp and Robin Seale joined the group in the celebration. Happy birthday, Tammy! Juston Mask celebrated his 12th birthday Sunday afternoon. His baseball team and family celebrated with him. Everyone had a wonderful time! Many more wonderful birthdays to you, Juston! Kim Shaw and Brian Jones to wed September 10 at Fellowship Baptist Randy and Kelly Shaw of Byhalia are pleased to announce the upcoming marriage of their daughter, Kimberly Shea Shaw, to Brian Gerald Jones, son of Jerry and Diane Jones of Keller, Tx. The bride-to-be is the paternal granddaughter of Billy and the late Willard Shaw of Byhalia. Maternal grandparents are Martha Lou Sewell of Barton, and the late John Sewell of Memphis, Tenn. The groom-to-be is the paternal grandson of Jane Jones and the late Gerald Jones of Thrall, Tx., and the maternal grandson of the late Marilyn Wood of St. Louis, Mo. Kimberly is a 2007 honors graduate of Marshall Academy in Holly Springs. She is also a 2011 honors graduate of Northeast Community College, where she received her degree in dental hygiene. Brian is a 2003 graduate of Rossville Christian Academy in Rossville, Tenn. He is also a 2008 graduate of the University of Tennessee- Martin, where he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. He is also a 2011 recipient of his CPA license. The ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Byhalia on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, with a reception at 3 p.m. at the Oak Palace in Holly Springs. After a honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will make their home in Nashville, Tenn.
Karyn Harris to wed Gregory Dukes on September 3 Gregory and Evelyn Malone of Victoria and the late Ronald Rayford are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Karyn Harris to Gregory Dukes, both of Victoria on Sept. 3, 2011. Karyn is the granddaughter of Lonnie and Annie Harris, Ina Malone, Johnny B. Rayford and the late Tressie Rayford, all of Victoria. She is a 1997 graduate of Byhalia High School and a 2009 graduate of Delta Technical College. Gregory is the son of Patricia Stroter of Victoria and the late Joseph Stroter. He is the grandson of Margaret Phillips and the late Hugo Phillips. He is a 1997 graduate of Corliss High School in Chicago, Ill. The couple will reside in Victoria.
Emily Davis and Mark Embrey to wed in League City, Texas Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Carpenter of Holly Springs, along with Mr. and Mrs. Tom C. Davis of Valdosta, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter Emily Elizabeth, to Mark Embrey of Madison. The wedding ceremony will be held September 17 in League City, Texas, with a reception following. The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management. She is a convention service manager at the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau in Houston, Texas. Miss Davis is the granddaughter of Elizabeth Nichols and the late Julian Nichols of Valdosta, Ga. and Lavonne Davis of Keaton Beach, Fla. and the late Tom C. Davis Jr. of Valdosta. The prospective groom is the son of Carol Embrey of Gulf Shores, Ala., and the late Randal Embrey of Jackson. Mr. Embrey is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He is a senior sales representative for Baker Hughes in Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Virginia Buescher of Jackson.
Paige Thomas to wed Justin McMullen September 17 at Heritage Apostolic Church Mr. and Mrs. Barry Thomas would like to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Rebecca Paige, to Justin Allen McMullen. Justin is the son of Tina Willis and the late Joe McMullen. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Bolden and Mrs. and Mrs. Charles W. Thomas Sr., all of Holly Springs. Paige is a 2009 graduate of Heritage Christian Academy. She is a 2011 graduate of Northwest Community College’s licensed practical nursing program. The prospective groom is the grandson of Helen Cook and James Willis, both of Holly Springs. He is also the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.A. “Cowboy” McMullen. Justin is a 2009 graduate of Heritage Christian Academy. He is a 2011 graduate of Northwest Community College’s HVAC program. He is currently employed at Contract Fabricators. Paige and Justin will be wed at 6 p.m. on Sept. 17, 2011, at Heritage Apostolic Church. A reception will follow at Jones Grove Road under the magnolias. |
