Chase Robison commits to Texas Tech
By BARRY BURLESON
A high school athlete with Marshall County connections will take his football skills to Texas Tech next year.
Chase Robison, a senior at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tenn., committed to the Red Raiders on Wednesday of last week. He plans to sign in February 2012.
Robison is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lanier Robison III. His father, a 1978 graduate of Marshall Academy, was an outstanding football player for the Patriots and went on to play at Arkansas State.
He is the grandson of Carole Robison of Holly Springs and the late Lanier Robison Jr.
Robison, a 6-4, 230-pounder, chose Texas Tech over several colleges, including Middle Tennessee State, Arkansas State, Bowling Green and North Texas.
Head coach of the Red Raiders is Tommy Tuberville, formerly at Ole Miss and Auburn.
In 2010, Robison had five quarterback sacks while helping the Christian Brothers Purple Wave to a 9-2 record.
CBHS opens its 2011 football season this Friday night at home versus Wooddale.
