Some high school football teams from Marshall County will tune up for the regular season with jamborees this week. The
Potts Camp Cardinals will get to play at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium on
the campus of Ole Miss. The Cardinals will collide with Houlka at 1
p.m. Saturday in Oxford. Coach Shane Stone said he had 25 to 30 players on average during the first week of practice prior to the start of school. Full Story

Meet the Patriots Monday Marshall Academy will host Meet the Patriots and Open House on Monday, Aug. 15. Meet
the Patriots, with introduction of the football, softball and soccer
teams and the cheerleaders, starts at 6 p.m. at the football stadium. Open House at the school will follow from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Basketball meeting set for Thursday; flag football planned There
will be an adult men’s and women’s basketball coaches meeting Thursday,
Aug. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building. Flag
football registration is open for girls and boys ages 5 to 12. The
season starts August 25. Children may register at City Hall Monday
through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. |
