best game of the year,” according to coach Marcus Moore. She

the sixth – recording two strikeouts and one walk and giving up one hit
to get the save. Kirk Tournament Lee 3-MA 2 “We
were sluggish going into this game and were just never able to get
anything going,” Coach Moore said about the tournament opener Saturday.
“We struggled at the plate and did not get the offensive production
that we needed.” Getting MA’s only three hits came off the bats of Autry, Gilliam and Caitlyn Brooks. Skelton
got the start in the circle. In three innings, she issued five walks,
two strikeouts and three hits. Gibson entered in relief with the score
tied at 2. She issued two walks and then Lee (Clarksdale) was able to
get a hit to push across the winning run. Gibson suffered her first
loss of the year. MA 14-Calhoun 2 Being put in the losers’ bracket after the first game of the tournament, MA battled back for a win against Calhoun. Samantha

the visiting team, was able to push one run across in the top of the
first. North Delta scored five in the bottom of the first. MA did not
score in the second but the Lady Green Wave was able to take advantage
of a tired Marshall pitching staff and after the Lady Pats issued five
walks in the second, North Delta was able to score seven runs. The
MA bats did make a comeback in the third. thanks to a triple by Moore
and a double by Gilliam to help the Lady Patriots score four runs. Skelton
pitched one inning – giving up four walks and four hits. Gibson and
Paris pitched the 2nd inning, combining for five walks and two hits. Schedule The
Lady Pats were slated to host Lee (Clarksdale) Monday and then visit
Lee (Ark.) Tuesday. They go to West Memphis Thursday at 4 and play in
the Lee (Clarksdale) Round Robin Saturday. Next Tuesday, Aug 16, MA
