Holly Springs policemen respond to assaults, more Officers with the Holly Springs Police Department responded to 89 calls last week, according to interim chief John Norman. The
calls included the following – disturbances, 4; alarms, 18; domestics,
4; larcenies, 4; accidents, 7; funerals, 3; auto burglary, 1; malicious
mischief, 1; assaults, 2; burglaries, 2; child abuse, 1; emergency,
fire and sheriff’s office assists, 2; and 40 miscellaneous calls. The
dog catcher answered five calls. Officers took the following reports for the week: Monday, August 1 • malicious mischief in the 200 block of West Valley Avenue. • trespassing in the 200 block of North Memphis Street. Tuesday, August 2 • carrying a concealed weapon in the 600 block of Cox Avenue. • simple assault in the 800 block of West Street. Wednesday, August 3 • missing firearm report in the 900 block of Highway 7 South. The firearm was later located. • simple assault in the Grissom Cove area. Two subjects were issued summons to appear in court. Friday, August 5 • domestic violence/simple assault in the 900 block of Highway 7 South. • domestic violence/simple assault in the 800 block of Salem Avenue. Saturday, August 6 • disturbing the peace and exhibiting a weapon in the 600 block of Highway 7 South. Four arrests were made. Sunday, July 31 • stalking in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Drive. Officers

careless driving, 1; disregard for traffic device, 2; expired driver's
license, 1; no driver's license, 1 arrest; contempt of court, 4

trespassing, 1 arrest; contempt/possession of paraphernalia, 1 arrest;
disturbing the peace, 3 arrests; disturbing the peace/exhibiting a
weapon, 1 arrest; DUI refusal, 1 arrest. |
