• COACHES MEETING There will be an adult men’s and women’s basketball coaches meeting, 6:30 p.m., at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building. Flag football registration is open for girls and boys ages 5-12. Season begins August 25. You may register at City Hall Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

August 12

• FAMILY NIGHT will be held at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ, 210 W. Park Ave., 7:30 p.m. The public is invited.

August 13

• PRE-ANNIVERSARY of the Rejoice Gospel Singers from Tupelo will be held at Jones Grove Church, 6 p.m. There will be other featured groups. For more information contact Betty Raimey, 662-278-9388.

• Singing New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy. 72 and Valentine Road, Slayden, Saturday night August 13, starting at 7 p.m. Featured guests will be The Joylanders from Trenton, Tenn. Bro. Billy Adair and congregation invite everyone to attend. Fellowship supper after singing.

• Musicians’ day Christ New Beginning MB Church will have Musicians’ Appreciation Day, Aug. 14, 2:30 p.m. Harvey L. Garrison, pastor.

• PRE-ANNIVERSARY PROGRAM will be held at Mt. Sinai C.O.G.I.C. of Mt. Pleasant for Pastor Curtis and Evangelist Richenda Pritchard, 3 p.m. Special guests will be Supvain Pritchard and the Garden of Grace C.O.G.I.C. of Memphis, Tenn. Everyone is invited.

• THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of the Bethel Cemetery Association will be at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, 3810 Bethel Road, Olive Branch, 2 p.m.

• FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY will be held at Christ Temple C.O.G.I.C., 210 W. Park Ave. Elder Nathaniel Holleman and St. Luke C.O.G.I.C. of Ashland will be the guests. Elder Albert Pass is the pastor. The public is invited.

• FUN DAY Faith World Ministries, 1040 Hwy. 178 E., will have a Fun Day beginning at 10 a.m. with Sunday School. Everyone is invited. They will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks. Bring your swim wear. We will have a giant water slide.

August 15

• Meet the Patriots at Marshall Academy will be held 6-7 p.m. and Open House will be held 7 p.m.-8 p.m.

• REVIVAL Jones Grove Church will have a revival August 15-19. The guest speaker will be Rev. Arthur Fitzpatrick. Host pastor is Rev. John Powell.

August 17

• REVIVAL Adolphus Chapel Church will have a revival August 17-29, 7 p.m. nightly. The guest speaker will be Pastor Willie Hoey of Pleasant Hill Church. Host pastor is Billy Williams.

• REVIVAL August 17-19, 7 p.m. nightly, Chulahoma M.B. Church will host annual revival services. Dr. D.L. Richardson, First Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas, will be the guest evangelist. Rev. Lonnie Whitfield, host pastor.

August 18

• MEN’S NIGHT will be held at Kimbrough Chapel August 18 and 19, 7 p.m. nightly.

• Meeting The Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library, 6 p.m. New members are always welcome.

• REVIVAL Landmark United Pentecostal Church, 10204 Goodman Rd., Olive Branch, will have a revival Aug. 18-21. Special speakers will be David Henderson, Aug. 18, 7:30 p.m.; Justin Hall, Aug. 19-20, 7:30 p.m.; Todd Henderson, Sun., Aug. 21, 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pastor is Kenneth Stacy.

August 19

• CONCERT The Bluff City Quartet will be in concert at Calvary Baptist Church, Hwy. 5 N., Lamar-Ashland area, 6:30 p.m. Fellowship will follow.

August 21

• ANNIVERSARY The Spirit of Life C.O.G.I.C. will have their pastor and wife’s anniversary at 3 p.m. for Pastor Joyner Sr. and first lady Tonniestein Joyner. The guest church will be Powerhouse C.O.G.I.C. and the speaker will be Pastor Leon Gaston. The church is located on Old Hwy. 78 across from Wesco.

• HOMECOMING Fellowship Baptist Church, Hwy. 309 North, Byhalia Road, will have homecoming featuring The Mark Trammell Quartet from Gadsden, Ala. • ANNIVERSARY Bethany Baptist Church, Potts Camp, will be celebrating their 75th anniversary beginning at 11 a.m. Former pastors will be speaking followed by lunch and singing by Pickin’ Up the Pieces. Pastor Donald Worsham and church invite everyone to attend.

September 3

September 17

• Worship summit Dennis Jernigan, worship leader, songwriter and author, will conduct the 2011 Mid-South Worship Summit, Sat., Sept. 17, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at CrossPointe Christian Fellowship, 6400 Blocker St., Olive Branch. Deadline to register for tickets is Sept. 1, register by Aug. 24 and receive a discount. Jernigan will also lead a free worship night on Sat., and will lead both the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 Sunday morning services. Everyone is cordially invited to attend these events.

• CONCERT Bill Monaghan will be in concert at Calvary Baptist Church, Hwy. 5 N., Ashland, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Fellowship will follow.

October 8

• FUND-RAISER The first annual fund-raiser dinner event, “The Wrecking Ball” for Preserve Marshall County and Holly Springs, Inc. will be held at the front lawn of historic Chalmers Institute. Jim Dees with Thacker Mountain Radio will be the emcee with Shannon McNally and her band providing the evenings music.

• Recovery Meeting SOS Christian Recovery Ministries will host a group meeting Friday evenings at 6 p.m. The group’s primary focus is drug addiction, alcoholism and the affected families.
