OpinionFielder’s Choice All worked out OK Last week was just one of those weeks. It was full of surprises and challenges. Each week, we strive here at your South Reporter to get things right. Most of the time, we’re on target. And last week there was even an extra focus on accuracy because it was the final newspaper before the August 2 primary. Close to Nowhere Did you vote? • Tuesday morning when I stopped at the Laws Hill Community Center to vote, the parking lot had cars in it and I actually had to stand in line to vote! I was delighted. Normally, at about 7:10 or so, I’m one of the first two or three to vote. I think I was ninth this time. Wyatt’s World Fish doing quite well after oil spill The Northside Sun newspaper just completed a bit of investigative reporting on the lasting effects of the BP oil spill. After a 12-hour analysis of the red snapper population within a few miles of the oil spill, the Sun concludes that the fish are doing quite well. Letters To The Editor More consistent bills While my family and I are not originally from Holly Springs, we’ve come to call it home. My wife and I have made many friends here, and we often feel that we could have never lived anywhere else. We’ve come to share many of the dreams (and some of the disappointments) of our fellow Holly Springers – that our historic town has lots of potential for commerce and growth, but that for some reason certain elements in our community stultify this potential.
