Fishing tournament Saturday will benefit Erica Yeager and family
A fishing tournament, “Fishing for Erica,” sponsored by the Tri-County Bass Anglers, will be held July 23 at Holiday Lodge in Harmontown, off Hwy. 310.
The tournament will be held from 5:30 a.m. until 12 noon and all proceeds from the tourney will go to Erica Yeager and her family. Erica will be at St. Jude at least 45 more days and she and her family will have to remain in Memphis, Tenn., near St. Jude, for at least six months to a year.
There is an entry fee and the weigh-in will be for the heaviest five fish. Trophies and prizes have been donated by local merchants.
Erica, 16, has a rare bone/blood disease and has been a patient in St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since early June. She has undergone 22 chemo treatments so far, in addition to a successful bone marrow transplant June 29. Her 9-year-old sister Leslie donated her bone marrow.
For more information on the tournament, please call Mark Whitt, 662-266-7223.
