Elcue Nathaniel Curry
Elcue
Nathaniel Curry,
85, of Waterford, died July 7, 2011, at his home. He was a member of
Greenfield Presbyterian Church, a church elder for more than 40 years,
a member of Masonic Lodge/Waterford #450, a member of the community
choir, male chorus, a male quartet singer and a retired brick mason,
since 2001, from James Walton Construction Company.
Services
were held at 1 p.m. on July 12 at Rust College Doxey Auditorium. Burial
was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Dr. Terrlyn Lisa Avery
officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
He
leaves his wife, Elmira Miller
Curry; six daughters, Lavora C. Blake, Evelyn Elliott, both of
Waterford, Devarieste Curry of Washington, D.C., Loretta Curry, Regina
Curry, both of Bowie, Md., Terrlyn Lisa Avery of Grisword, Conn.; three
sons, Robert Curry of Holly Springs, Alvin Curry of Lawrenceville, Ga.,
Ephram Nathaniel Curry of Conyers, Ga.; three adopted children,
Magdalene Hughes of Batavia, Ill., Vannettar Moore of Aurora, Ill.,
Geraldine Trotter of Chicago, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa Aretha Curry.
Danny O’Neil Darness Sr.
Danny
O’Neal Darness Sr., 62, of Holly Springs, died July 5, 2011, at his
home. He was a member of Liberty MB Church of Olive Branch, a heating
and air repair person and a veteran.
Services
were held at 2 p.m. on July 8 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
Bro. Billy Adair officiated.
He
leaves his wife, Rebecca Sue Darnell; a son, Danny O’Neil Darnell Jr.
(Laura) of Potts Camp; three daughters, Dana Watkins (Richard Dyer),
Melissa Darnell (Paul Anderson), both of Red Banks, Nicole Siler
(Ronnie) of Holly Springs; a brother, Bill Darnell of Buffalo, NY; two
sisters, Teresa Bobbitt of Mt. Pleasant, Vanessa Shepherd of Eads,
Tenn.; 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ernest James Jones
Pastor
Ernest James Jones, 80, of Memphis, Tenn., died July 6, 2011. He was
the pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church in Laws Hill. He was
president of the MS New Education State Congress, president of the
Holly Springs Marshall County Congress and a retired Memphis City
Schools teacher. He served in Korea as an interpreter and was an
alumnus of Hamilton High School, Rust College, and the Herbert Brewer
Theological Clinic.
Services
were held at 11
a.m. on July 12 at Cane Creek Baptist Church. Burial was in West
Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Harrison’s Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements.
He
leaves his wife, Jennie Jones;
six children, son James (Connie) Jones, daughter Janet (Ryland) Acey,
Verna Dale Lucas, Maurice (Belinda) Jones of Houston, Tx., Daryl Jones,
Karen (LaMarcus) Johnson; and many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.

Carra LeSueur, 48, of Jackson, died July 7, 2011, at West Jackson
Hospital in Jackson.
Services
will be held at 11 a.m. on July 14 at Christ Temple Church of God in
Christ. Burial will be in the LeSueur Family Cemetery. Elder Albert
Pass will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge
of arrangements.

leaves his mother, Annie Seal

Maresa Alexander of Bolton, Michele LeSueur of Cincinnati, Ohio, Wilma
Parker of Hinesville, Ga.; and two brothers, Frank LeSueur of
Hinesville, Derrick LeSueur of Memphis, Tenn.
He
was preceded in death by two brothers, Doran LeSueur, Leonard LeSueur.

Shawn Ramos, 43, of Ashland, died July 2, 2011, at Snow Lake. He was a
Methodist and a carpenter.

were held at 10 a.m. on July 8 at Garland Funeral Home Chapel in
Walnut, Ill. Burial was in Malden Cemetery in Malden, Ill. Holly
Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He
leaves his father, Richard Ramos of Malden; his mother, Lucille Ramos
of Ashland; his son, Dakota Ramos of Ashland; and three sisters,
Kimberly Sue Nealand, Brenda Jean Sloan, Michelle Dawn Rosenow, all of
Princeton, Ill.

Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

Ark. Neil Jackson officiated. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m.
on July 15 at Byhalia Cemetery.
He
leaves his
wife, Emma Jean Shinn; two sons, Gary J. Shinn of Victoria, Charles F.
Hughes of Lincoln, Ark.; a daughter, Diann Bearden of Elkins, Ark.; a
sister, Bonnie Walker of Conway, Ark.; nine grandchildren and 14
great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Wilson; and a grandson,
John Vinson.

Wyatt
Anderson Thomas, 93, of Michigan City, died July 9, 2011, at Baptist
Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was the widower of Grace Sims Thomas, his
wife of 49 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services
were held at 7 p.m. on July 12 at Calvary Episcopal Church, where he
was a member. Burial was in Valley Grove Cemetery in Michigan City.
Rev. William Kemp, Rev. Dave Richie and the Rev. Bruce McMillan
officiated.
He
leaves a daughter, Susan Thomas James of Michigan City; three
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Faulkenbery.

Homer
Clyde Toles, 77, of Abbeville, died July 5, 2011, at his daughter’s
home in Abbeville. He was a member of Pleasant Grove MB Church in Red
Banks and a retired self-employed carpenter.
Services
were held at 11 a.m. on July 9 at Clear Creek MB Church in Oxford.
Burial was in Yocona Cemetery in Taylor. Rev. Eddie Goliday officiated.

He
leaves six daughters, Ann Pettis of Abbeville, Martha Telford of Water
Valley, Catherine Mason, Rebecca Dowdy, Charlene Johnson, all of Holly
Springs, Jeanette Lewis of Monroeville, Ala.; a son, Ray Toles of
Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Ruth Smith of Holly Springs, Ara Perry of
Memphis; a brother, Brodis Toles Sr. of Taylor; 19 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren.
