A 50-foot flagpole and flag has been donated to the Potts Camp Town Park by the former Potts Camp Booster Club. Dedication services were held Saturday, June 25, with Rodney Whaley presiding. The
flagpole was dedicated in memory of T.M. “Coach” Stone, who was the
originator and organizer of the Potts Camp Park Booster Club
in 1991. The original group consisted of 20 men who recognized a need
to become involved in the lives of children and to raise funds for the
park. The park was completed in 1990. During the
tenure of the Booster Club, numerous improvements were made to the
park, mainly through fund-raisers. On hand for
the dedication were members of the Park Boosters as well as family
members of Coach Stone – Mrs. Annie Ruth Stone, Gale, Tommye Ann and
Patrick Goode, Mitch, Jeanette and Emily Stone, and Pebble Gadd. Also
attending were Mayor Ricky Lesure, aldermen Mary Houston and Wanda
Love, as well as other interested citizens of the town and surrounding
communities. | | Rodney Whaley presents a plaque to the family of T.M.
