In mid-August it will be 11-on-11. But for the past few weeks, it has been seven-on-seven.
Potts Camp, Marshall Academy and H.W. Byers have been among the high school football teams participating in seven-on-seven games on Mondays at Oxford High School. The competition, sort of like tag football, wrapped up last week.

Give Williams sisters few more years
Before anyone starts to flay me nine ways from football season for whipping the proverbial dead horse, just let me say that the Williams sisters’ exit from this season’s Wimbledon was far from an ignominious dismissal.
Youth football camp Saturday
The first annual Lester/Rice Youth Football Camp will be held Saturday, July 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sam Coopwood Park in Holly Springs.
The camp will be hosted by Brian Lester and Eric Rice.
Knotty Bolden Rodeo scheduled for July 15-16
The 27th annual Knotty Bolden Memorial Rodeo will be held July 15-16 at 8 p.m.
The rodeo, produced by J Bar B Rodeo Co., will be held at the Knotty Bolden Memorial Arena on Highway 7, six miles north of Holly Springs.
Tickets are $8, ages 10 and older; $6, ages 4-9; and free, ages 3 and under.
The Knotty Bolden Memorial Buckle is donated by Cowboy Corner of Southaven.
