Two from Holly Springs join Grizzlies for a day On
June 7, Holly Springs residents Juston Mask and Tyler Bolden had the
chance to see what it feels like to be a professional basketball player
for a day. The two 11-year-old boys traveled to
the FedEx Forum where they met up with Damon Stoudamire, a former
Grizzlies assistant coach and current University of Memphis Tigers
assistant, for a private one-hour coaching session. The training
session was held in the Coventry Health Care Practice Facility at FedEx
Forum, the Grizzlies’ official practice court. In addition to receiving
personal basketball tips from a former NBA star, the boys met Grizzlies
head coach Lionel Hollins and team mascot Grizz, and then capped off
the afternoon with a tour of the team locker room. Juston
Mask and Tyler Bolden had the opportunity to practice with Damon
Stoudamire because Juston’s grandfather, Frank Swords, an avid Memphis
Grizzlies fan, bid on and won the opportunity at last February’s Grizz
Gala present by Gold Strike Casino Resort. Proceeds benefited Grizzlies
House at St. Jude. For more information on St.
