out, but basketballs are still bouncing.

Byers has been hosting summer league games, and June 8 the field
included the host Lady Lions and Lions, plus Holly Springs, Ashland,
Coffeeville, Southwind (Tenn.) and White Station (Tenn.).

Behind The Scoreboard By Claude Vinson Young golfer shines at U.S. Open A
short while ago, Tiger Woods made the announcement that he would not be
on the course at Bethesda, Maryland, when the U.S. Open kicked off on
Thursday, June 16. There was not a cry of jubilation which could be
heard throughout the golfing world, simply because the Tiger does not
have the teeth which he used to show in these world class events. But,
when all was said and done on Sunday, there could have very easily been

Summer basketball camps set for July The New Albany High School basketball coaching staff has scheduled its 2011 boys basketball summer camps. Session
1 for boys ages 7-10 will be July 6-8 from 9 a.m.-noon. Session 2 for
boys ages 11-14 will be July 13-15 from 9 a.m.-noon. Full Story

Vanderburg, Fitzpatrick named All-MAIS Two Marshall Academy Patriots were honored on the 2011 All-MAIS Baseball Teams. Catcher Josh Vanderburg was named to first team. The 2011 Marshall graduate will play for Delta State University next season. Shortstop Kevin Fitzpatrick, a junior last season at Marshall, was named to the second team. The two helped lead the Pats to the North State chapionship series in 2011. The All-MAIS teams were announced on the website of the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools.
