Holly High camp
Coach
Xavier Johnson recently held his first summer basketball camp for area
youngsters with the help of the entire Holly Springs High School girls
basketball team who served as assistant coaches. Fourteen youngsters
participated in the camp. (Above, left) Thomas Stewart is helped with a

lay-ups with T’Erika Allen. At the Coach “Xa” Biddy Basketball Camp,
participants practiced ball-handling, dribbling and shooting and also
learned about self-esteem, teamwork and the value of hard work. Coach
Johnson said he may schedule another youth camp in July. |

plan is to be ready to play the first home game there on August 19,”
said Don Randolph, superintendent of education for the Marshall County

the first team camp of the off-season is any indication, the Marshall
Academy Patriots could be well on their way to defending their Class AA

Coach
Marcus Autry, head coach of the Holly Springs High School Hawks, talks
to the Hawks about summer workouts and precautions that should be taken
in the heat. Coach Autry said the Holly High football players are
lifting weights and doing conditioning drills during the morning hours
– “trying to get ready for the season.” He urged the Hawks to dedicate
themselves to the team and its success in the 2011 season. Holly High
will play in a jamboree August 12 at Corinth and then kick off the new
season August 19 at home versus Coldwater in a Classic Game. |
