Obituaries Rubie Lee Lester DeBerry
Rubie
Lee Lester DeBerry, 78, of Holly Springs, died Monday, June 13, 2011 at
Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. She retired as a teacher
in the Holly Springs School District in 1974. She was a member of
Yarbrough Chapel CME Church. Visitation will be
from 1-5 p.m. on June 16, at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Chapel and
at Yarbrough Chapel Church from 6-8 p.m., continuing on June 17 at Rust
College Doxey Auditorim on June 17 from 10-10:55. Services
will be held at 11 a.m. on June 17 in the Rust College Doxey
Auditorium. Rev. Telsa DeBerry will officiate. Burial will be in
Yarbrough Chapel Cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements. She leaves three sons,
Conery DeBerry, Dale DeBerry, Telsa DeBerry, all of Holly Springs;
three daughters, Ida Oliver, Sherna Jones, both of Holly Springs, Tonza
DeBerry of Ridgeland; four sisters, Bernice Lloyd of Marked Tree,
Ark., Maomi Phillips of St. Louis, Mo, Sarah Pryor of Aurora, Ill.,
Mattie Stitts of Memphis, Tenn.; four brothers, Noah Lester of Marked
Tree, Joe T. Lester, Turner Lester, Enoch Lester, all of Holly Springs;
15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi King and a brother, Lloyd Lester. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to New Hope Village of Holly Springs. Shirley Jean White-Harden Shirley
Jean White-Harden, 49, of New Albany, died June 8, 2011, at Baptist
Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was the widow of James Edward Harden and
a CNA with Baptist Hospital. Services will be
held at 2 p.m. on June 18 at Holy Temple Church of God. Burial will be
in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in New Albany. Serenity Funeral Home of New
Albany will be in charge of arrangements. She
leaves three children, Bridget Harden, Brandon Harden, both of New
Albany, Deanella Alexander of Aurora, Ill.; a brother, Walter White of
Colorado Springs, Colo., and her mother-in-law, Lillie Walker Harden of
Chulahoma. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brandy White. John Anthony (P.C.) Thomas
John
Anthony (P.C.) Thomas, 49, of Holly Springs, died June 4, 2011, at
Alliance HealthCare System. He was a member of Mt. Moriah CME Church in
Waterford and a self-employed painter. Services
were held at 1 p.m. on June 11 at New Dimension Salt & Light
Ministries in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden in
Holly Springs. Rev. Hampton officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements. He leaves two
children, Mary Naketa Hardin of Red Banks, Martiea Patterson of Lamar;
his mother, Josie Thomas Sanders of Holly Springs; two sisters, Janice
Thomas of Holly Springs, Precious Chapman of Olive Branch; nine
brothers, Orlando Curtis Thomas of Waterford, Dennis Earl Thomas,
Robert Thomas, Timothy Thomas, David Thomas, all of Holly Springs,
Darron Thomas of Byhalia, Gregory Thomas of Olive Branch, George D.
Thomas of St. Louis, Mo., Terry Thomas of Flint, Mich.; and two
grandchildren. |
