SportsReportJones scores 26 for East stars By BARRY BURLESON Kenyatta Jones put on an offensive show in his last high school basketball game Saturday. The 2011 Byhalia High School graduate scored a game-high 26 points and was named the Offensive Player of the Game in the Northeast Mississippi Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game.
Bearcat places in NCAA’s top 10 Rust College track and field team member Demeatrick Clayton, of Vaughan, placed ninth out of 20 participants in the high jump at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships, Saturday, May 28, in Delaware, Ohio. Bougard, Fayne get awards at Georgia meet Two Byhalia athletes, competing with the Memphis Mustangs Track Club, received the Most Outstanding Young Men and Young Women Athlete Awards. The honors came at the fifth annual Mark Trail Flying Eagles Memorial Day Invitational (USATF Youth Meet) on May 28-29 in Locust Grove, Ga. (Atlanta area). MA hosts football camp next week Marshall Academy will host a football camp June 13-16 for second through seventh graders. The camp will be led by new head coach Barrett Donahoe and other members of his staff. It will focus on fundamentals. West Union’s Bynum signs with BMC Austin Bynum of West Union High School, one of Mississippi’s top high school and junior golfers, recently signed a scholarship with Blue Mountain College.
