ObituariesCarolyn Bougard Carolyn Bougard, 88, of Byhalia, died May 5, 2011. Services
were held at 12 noon on May 11 at St. Paul MB Church in Byhalia. Burial
was in the church cemetery. Gillespie Funeral Home, Olive Branch, was
in charge of arrangements. She leaves her
husband, Robert Bougard Sr.; a son, Robert Bougard Jr. (Helen) of
Byhalia; a daughter-in-law, Rosie Bougard of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister,
Ida Bougard of South Bend, Ind.; eight grandchildren and 27
great-grandchildren. Frances Hampton Brown
Frances
Hampton Brown, 91, of Lamar, died May 14, 2011, at Tippah County
Hospital, Ripley. She was the widow of Jessie Howard Brown. She was a
member of the mother’s board and a retired custodian from Rust College
since 1970. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on
May 21 at Sand Hill MB Church in Lamar, where she was a member. Burial
will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Eugene Brown Jr. will officiate.

leaves four daughters, Dianne Brown of Lamar, Lula B. Peterson of
Detroit, Mich., Georgia Ann Brown of Memphis, Tenn., Kennedy Brown of
Ashland; six sons, Mack Lee Brown, Howard Brown Jr., William Thomas
Brown, Robert Charles Brown, all of Memphis, Eugene Brown Sr., Bruce
Kevin Brown, both of Ashland; 53 grandchildren and 30
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by children Stella Mae Norwood, Della Brown, Roy Lee Brown, Clara Dean Dunn and Lee Frances Brown. Allison Kristine Corey Allison Kristine Corey, 26, of Mt. Pleasant, died May 3, 2011, at Lucedale. She was a Christian and an LPN. Services
were held at 3 p.m. on May 6 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Rev. Curtis Ferrell officiated. She
leaves her father, Tom Corey of Bay St. Louis; her mother, Denise Corey
of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Lee Rhodes (Bree) of Collierville, Tenn.; and
grandparents, Dorothy Corey of Diamond Head, and Art and Dale Galbreath

Hampton, 87, of Holly Springs, died May 8, 2011, at Alliance HealthCare
System. He was the widower of Elnora Thompson Hampton. He was a retired
construction worker with Bailey Properties, Memphis, Tenn. Services
were held at 12 noon on May 16 at Sand Hill MB Church in Lamar, where
he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Edrick

Hampton; six daughters, Pearlie Mae Drew, Bernice McGhee of Memphis,
Ida Woodley of Olive Branch, Martha Hampton of Horn Lake, Mary McGhee
of Moscow, Tenn., Mary Bean of Lamar; two sons, John Hampton of Holly
Springs, Murwill Hampton of Germantown, Tenn.; three sisters, Olivia
Brown, Lillie Ann Guy, Tommie Jean DeBerry, all of Holly Springs; four
brothers, Odell Hampton of Lamar, M.H. Hampton, Johnny Hampton, W.B.
Brown, all of Holly Springs; several grandchildren, several
great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and a special
niece, Gloria Bogan. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Josephine Marshall; a sister, Atlean Harris; and a brother, Skirt Hampton. James Paul Johnson James Paul Johnson, 55, of Waterford, died May 8, 2011, at his home. He was a Baptist and a carpenter. Services
were held at 2 p.m. on May 12 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Bro. Bobby Snow officiated. He
leaves a son, Stacy Johnson of Walnut; two stepsons, Lane Brewer, Clay
Brewer, both of Slayden; a stepdaughter, Stacey Carpenter of
Collierville; a brother, Ronnie Johnson of Waterford; and six sisters,
Frances Westmoreland of Potts Camp, Mary Ann Day of Holly Springs,
Evelyn Watkins, Christine Martin, Debbie Culver all of Waterford, Linda

Ruthie Mae Robinson of Olive Branch. Doris Wilson Doris Wilson, 85, of Byhalia, died May 9, 2011. Services
were held at 2 p.m. on May 12 at Brantley Funeral Home Chapel in Olive
Branch. Burial was in Autumn Woods Memorial Park Cemetery. She
leaves her husband of 65 years, Fred Thomas Wilson; four children,
Thomas Larry Wilson, Roger Dale Wilson, Linda Brents and William Alvis
Wilson; six siblings, Sarah Moore, Don Harris, Earl Harris, Howard Lee
Harris, Alvis Harris, Jr. and Betty Vaughn, 11 grandchildren, 22
great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by a son, Ernest Wade Wilson. |
