• Mass choir concert Kimbrough Chapel Church, Sun., Jan. 16, featuring the Jones Chapel Mass Choir of Grand Junction, Tenn. and Special-T Singers from Senatobia. Host pastor, Rev. J.W. Smith Jr. Come and be blessed.

• Sunday school Hopewell No. 2 MB Church has Sunday school every first, second and third Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Morning worship is held at 10:45 a.m. Every fourth Sunday, morning worship is held at 9 a.m. and Sunday school at 8 a.m.

January 17

• King breakfast NAACP Marshall County Branch will sponsor the 26th annual Martin L. King Jr., birthday breakfast, 9 a.m., Mon., Jan. 17, at Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building. The speaker is Rev. Rondais Cox of Mt. Peel Baptist Church, host. Breakfast is being donated by NAACP life member Billy R. Autry and will be prepared by church members. Motorcade immediately following service to M.L. King, Jr. Dr. and Memphis Street; the public is invited.

• MEETING The Marshall County Humane Society will have its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. at the VFW, Hwy. 7 South, in Holly Springs. Everyone is welcome.

January 19

• Missionary meeting Hopewell No. 2 missionary dept. meets every Wed. before the first and third Sunday at 6 p.m.

January 20

• Meeting The Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library, 6 p.m. New members always welcome.

January 22

• Recovery Meeting SOS Christian Recovery Ministries will host a group meeting Friday evenings at 6 p.m. The group’s primary focus is drug addiction, alcoholism and the affected families. There will be a group for family members to learn how to cope and heal from the destructive behavior of an addict or an alcoholic in the family.
