Byhalia boys, girls advance to regionals By BARRY BURLESON
The Byhalia boys and girls finished second and third, respectively, in the Division 2-4A Track Meet last week on their home track. The Indians totaled 100 points, trailing first-place Center Hill (150). Senatobia was third with 90. The Lady Indians earned 107.50 points, trailing champion Center Hill (146) and runner-up Lafayette (145.50). The top four finishers in each event go on to regionals. 100 meter hurdles • Girls – second, Megan Rayford, 17.00. 110 meter hurdles • Boys – third, Labrandon Walker, 17.17. 800 meter relay • Girls – first, Erica Bougard, Megan Rayford, Shakinah Hearns, Shandricka Sessom, 1:47.64. 1600 meter run • Boys – first, Godfrey Fayne, 4:57. 400 meter relay • Girls – second, Latrice Akins, Shakinah Hearns, Erica Bougard, Megan Rayford, 51.86. • Boys – fourth, Jalen Applewhite, Greg Fitts, Andre Collins, Jamarcus Hardaway, 45.23. 400 meter dash • Girls – third, Jasmine Riddle, 1:09.13. 300 meter hurdles • Girls – first, Megan Rayford, 50.20. 800 meter run • Boys – first, Godfrey Fayne, 2:08.30. 1600 meter relay • Girls – fourth, Cortillius Jones, Danielle Podewills, Jasmine Jones, Shenelle Rayford, 5:32. • Boys – second, Andre Collins, Jamarcus Hardaway, Godfrey Fayne, Tevin Jones, 3:41.
