Potts Camp teams third

Potts Camp track teams have tuned up for this week’s division meet by competing recently in Oxford and Pontotoc.

At Oxford, coach Karen Green said her Class 1A Cardinals and Lady Cardinals competed against much larger 5A and 6A schools.

At Pontotoc, both the boys and girls placed third – behind Corinth and Kossuth. Potts Camp beat Alcorn Central, Ripley, Biggersville, Houlka and Tupelo Christian.

Girls

• 100 meter dash – seventh, Terri Peace, 14.12; eighth, Zana Davis, 14.32.

• 200 meter dash – third, Tenesha Woods, 28.71; ninth, Zana Davis, 32.44.

• 400 meter dash – fourth, Tenesha Woods, 1:07.52; eighth, Zana Davis, 1:23.42.

• 800 meter run – sixth, Amber Cooper, 2:53; 12th, Shauna Haney, 3:11.77.

• 1600 meter run – seventh, Anna Summerlin, 6:53; eighth, Shauna Haney, 7:02.

• 3200 meter run – fourth, Shauna Haney, 14:25; seventh, Amber Cooper, 15:02.

• 100 meter hurdles – sixth, Megan Watkins, 21.01; eighth, Dana Jeffries, 21.35.

• Girls 4x100 relay – fifth, Shelby Davis, Maresha Payne, Dana Jeffries, Terri Peace, 58.04.

• Girls 4x200 relay – sixth, Dana Jeffries, Maresha Payne, Shelby Davis, Terri Peace, 2:06.72.

• 4x400 relay – fourth, Amber Cooper, Shelby Davis, Maresha Payne, Anna Summerlin, 5:11.

• High jump – fifth, Zana Davis, 4-00.

• Pole vault – second, Megan Watkins, 7-00.

Coach Green is hosting several division meets this week at the Byhalia High School track. Those include 2-1A, 2-4A, 1-1A, 1-2A, 2-2A and 1-3A. She will then host Region 1-1A North and Regio 1-2A North on April 30 and then 1A North and 2A North on May 7.
