Cortney DeVar “Var” Harris, 33, of Lamar, died April 4, 2011, at his
home. He was a member of the church steward board, church treasurer, a
member of the male chorus, and cable tech with Progressive Technologies

on April 9 at Mt. Pisgah CME Church in Cayce, where he was a member.

Smith Nunnally, 93, of Holly Springs, died April 5, 2011, at Alliance
HealthCare System. She was the widow of Virgil Nunnally. Services

Willie Nunnally of Chicago, Ill.; 18 grandchildren, 36
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lula Nunnally; and a sister, Henreitta Griffin.
Charlie Lee Payne Charlie Lee “Rock” Payne, 60, died April 2, 2011. He was a retired construction worker. He joined New Hope CME Church. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on April 9 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Rev.

leaves three brothers, Jimmie (Mattie) Payne, Isaac Marion, George W.
Payne, all of Holly Springs; three sisters, Flora (Leonard) Cruthirds
Jr. of Oxford, Lena and Fannie Payne of Holly Springs. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary E. Dade and Ruthie M. Payne and a brother, Joseph R. Marion. Pallbearers

Ann Davis Selman, 55, of Holly Springs, died April 12, 2011, at her
home. She was a member of Christ Temple COGIC, a chuch usher, choir
member, assistant Sunday school teacher, president of Youth Ushers,
LEAPS, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives,
Mississippi Gang Association, Mississippi Association of Women and Law
Enforcement and a former member of the Mississippi Police Chief’s
Association. She was assistant chief for the Holly Springs Police

West Williams, 67, of Byhalia, died at the Hope Hospice in Cape Coral,
Fla., April 2, 2011. He graduated from Byhalia High School in 1961. He
was retired from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad after 38
years of service. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 16 at the Memphis Memory Gardens, Memphis, Tenn. He
leaves two daughters, Rebecca Williams of Bogue Chitto, Shari Jones of
Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Donald Williams; a half-brother, John
McKissack Jr.; two half-sisters, Carol Ann and Brenda Williams; and
