The
little church that it is said to “take a telescope to see” is open this
year for the first time for the Holly Springs Pilgrimage. Located
at 154 South Memphis Street, next door to city hall, it is one one of
the first gathering places for Sunday School and worship in the city. The
tour of the Sabbath School Church includes pretty little ladies in long
antebellum attire, a presentation of the history by a tour guide and a
display of antiques by The Antique Shop in Mt. Pleasant, owned by Carl

movement by state Baptists, asking Mississippians to pray daily when
they wake up, made its way to the Marshall County courthouse lawn March
28. Close to 100 people turned out to hear an
appeal for 10,000 prayer warriors across the state to pray for
themselves, leaders and souls each morning before getting on with the
day. Each county seat was to have been visited by last week. Amory was

Deputies respond to apparent suicide By SUE WATSON Staff Writer A Lamar man is thought to have committed suicide by hanging Monday night, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson. He
said dispatch received a call around 10:30 p.m. to 1632 Roberts Chapel
Road in the Lamar community in response to a possible suicide by
