Getting multiple hits for Potts Camp were Kody Joyner (three doubles), Ben Bolden, Jesse Shaw and Zack Mayer. Game three was twice as long, six innings, but the Cardinals still cruised, 15-5. Brantley Harris earned the mound victory. Connecting for multiple hits were Mayer (including a triple), Bolden, Shaw, K. Joyner and Josh Hailey. P.C. vs. Ingomar The Cardinals then visited Ingomar Friday night and dropped the district contest to the Falcons 5-0. Potts Camp managed just two hits off Falcon pitcher Tyler Dowdy. “We
just did not hit the ball well Friday night,” coach Justin Weeden said.
“For us to be successful in our division we have to hit the ball.” Bolden
took the mound loss for the Cards. He gave up seven hits over six
innings and had three strikeouts. Ingomar’s big hitter was Tanner
McCollum who was two for two with a two-run homer in the first. “I
felt good about the way our defense played, and giving up seven hits to
a team like Ingomar is expected,” Weeden said. “They’re a very good
hitting team.” Potts Camp went to 3-3 overall and
2-1 in the district. The Cardinals are scheduled for two district
contests this week – Tuesday at Myrtle and Firday at Byers. Next
Tuesday, April 5, they host West Union in more district action. | | Josh Hailey of Potts Camp dashes into first base as the Blue Mountain player stretches for the baseball. |
