Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce has changed the date of its quarterly
luncheon. It will be held Thursday, March 31, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Peggy Linton of the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi will be the featured speaker. The luncheon will be held at the Beckley Center, 155 Rust Avenue. The cost is $10 per person. Byhalia gets organized for beautification effort Keep
Mississippi Beautiful and the Mississippi Department of Transportation
have asked Byhalia to participate in the Great American Cleanup of
Mississippi. Town leaders have designated the
month of April to conduct a cleanup and beautify Byhalia. Everyone’s
help is needed. Anyone interested in volunteering, please contact town
hall at 662-838-2135. The Great American Cleanup
is Keep America Beautiful’s signature event that involves millions of
volunteers nationally to improve the quality of life in communities
across America. Marshall County sets Spring Cleanup 2011 Spring Cleanup 2011 is set for April 4–April 18 in Marshall County. Please pitch in and make Marshall County a cleaner place to live. The Marshall County Board of Supervisors will provide dumpsters at the following locations for everyone’s convenience. •
Laws Hill Community Center, Cayce Fire Department, Potts Camp Fire
Department, Slayden Community Center, Chulahoma Community Center,
Waterford Community Center, Red Banks Fire Department, Watson Community
Center, Byhalia Fire Department (across the road), Highway 309 North at
Deer Creek Rd., Matthews Corner Voting Precinct, Lake Estates, Marianna
Voting Precinct, Wall Hill Voting Precinct, Early Grove Community
Center, Bethlehem Community (fire department), Mt. Pleasant (the gin),
Victoria Community Center. Please: no brush or household garbage should be placed in the dumpsters. The Marshall County Rubbish Pit and White Goods Collection Site is open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. For more information, contact the county administrator at 662-252-7903.
