Choice Profile – team effort Some plans for the next Profile Edition typically start a day or two after the latest one hits the streets. We need at least a day to recuperate. We keep a running list of story/photo ideas. Plus, we get calls soon after one is published and throughout the year suggesting features. Close to Nowhere Whole lot of shakin’ going on! Many, many of us have sat in the doctor’s office and gotten scary, bad news. Sometimes it turns out OK, sometimes, it doesn’t. So far, my “bad news” episode is tending toward the “OK” side. It’s sure been an experience though! Last Thursday started normally enough. Had an appointment at the Holly Springs Eye Clinic to get my eyes checked and probably new glasses. True cast of characters in Holly Springs Stephanie McKinney Everyone knows that Holly Springs is filled with architectural character. The New York Times has even called it “an antebellum encyclopedia.” However, nothing defines the true character of Holly Springs quite as well as the colorful people who call it home. Holly Springs does not have residents; it has “characters.” These are the types of people who keep tourists coming back, and they are the types of people who make the job of tourism director a wonderful experience Letter To The Editor Commended: The Byhalia Family Health Center is to be commended for sponsoring a health fair to benefit this entire area. Lab tests were performed, information on maintaining good health through exercise and wise food choices, plus encouraging preventative health practices were available at no cost. Each participant was better informed and encouraged by this generous gift to our community. The focus of the Byhalia Family Health Center was to assist us in raising our standards to protect ourselves and to depend on the health center for the medical care we need to accomplish our goal. Mission accomplished! Thank you Hometown Heroes Immanuel Betts, Marines, 2nd tour, Afghanistan Supporting Our Troops If you’d like to add a name to this list, please contact The South Reporter, Attn.
