Suspect returned to county; warrants served By SUE WATSON Staff Writer A
suspect in the assault of a Mt. Pleasant woman and the burglary of her
home and her son’s home was returned to Marshall County jail last week
to face charges. Maquel Donyel Morris, 21, of
850 Parnell Road, Collierville, Tenn., waived rights to a hearing and
was returned to Marshall County and remains in jail under $1 million
bond, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson. He and his brother, Dillon
Dewayne Williams, 17, of 420 Warr Road, Rossville, Tenn., also under $1
million bond on the same charges, both await preliminary hearings in
justice court, the sheriff said. Dickerson
thanked the Collierville Police Department for giving Marshall County
the first opportunity to file criminal charges against Morris, who was
apprehended in Memphis by authorities who served an arrest warrant for
Collierville police. In unrelated actions,
Friday, Feb. 5, officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department,
the United States Marshal Service, the Mississippi Bureau of
Investigation, and the Holly Springs and Byhalia police departments
served arrest warrants on a number of individuals in the area,
Dickerson said. Most of the warrants stem from
grand jury indictments handed down in the January 2010 term of Marshall
County Circuit Court, but some were issued by justice court. Sheriff Dickerson said the following individuals were served: • Margaret Vasser, 39, of 31 Dalton Street, Potts Camp, charged with uttering forgery. Bond set at $5,000. • Carlos Ford, 27, of 11 Hardaway Circle, Holly Springs, charged with aggravated assault. Released on $25,000 bond. •
April D. Sims, 30, of 265 West Woodward Avenue, Holly Springs, charged
with removing personal property subject to lien. Bond set at $5,000. • James Bishop, 18, of 209 Jon Oaks Drive, Red Banks, charged with auto burglary. Released on $5,000 bond. • Robert Brown, 29, of 298 Randall Drive, Holly Springs, charged with bad checks. Released on $5,000 bond. • Vickie Mosby, 37, of Croft Road, Byhalia, charged with child abuse. Bond set at $10,000. •
Ricardo Whitelow, 29, of 130 Greenbriar Circle, Holly Springs, charged
with sale of a controlled substance and with aggravated assault. Bond
set at $20,000. • Christopher Nickson, 21, of 1381 O.M. Cox Road, Potts Camp, charged with sale of a controlled substance. Bond set at $10,000. • R.C. Blake, 60, of Memphis Street, Holly Springs, charged with sale of a controlled substance. In jail with $10,000 bond. • Ruthie Green, 54, of 90 Cedarwood Drive, Byhalia, charged with violation of probation. Remains in jail. •
Darren P. Finner, 44, of 189 Martin Street, Holly Springs, charged with
sale of a controlled substance. Remains in jail on $10,000 bond. •
Marcus A. Faulkner, 26, of 3372 Highway 178 East, Holly Springs,
charged with sale of a controlled substance and with child
endangerment. Bond set at $30,000. • Timothy Churchill, 47, of 8091 Germantown Road, Memphis, Tenn., charged with trespassing. Appearance bond set at $500. • Terrance Jones, 26, of 1186 Wall Hill Road, Byhalia, charged with violation of probation. Warrant withdrawn. • Tequarnce Holloway, 19, of 1186 Wall Hill Road, Byhalia, charged with false identifying information. Bond set at $500. • Jacqueline Benson, 28, of 177 Lloyd Lane, Byhalia, charged with simple assault. Bond set at $500. •
Gary D. Cox, 19, of 142 Turner Cove, Holly Springs, charged with
possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and
following too close. Bond set at $1,000. •
Marquet Walls, 22, of 383 Parker Road, Byhalia, charged with two counts
sale of controlled substance (cocaine), one count sale of controlled
substance (marijuana). Bond set at $30,000. •
Stephanie Cook, 37, of 4103 Highway 4 East, Holly Springs, charged with
possession of precursor and embezzlement. Bond set at $12,500. • Tammy C. Taylor, 44, of 6575 Grant Cove, Olive Branch, charged with sale of controlled substance (clonazepam). •
Michael Lesure, 32, of 256 N. Bonner Street, Holly Springs, charged in
2009 indictment with sale of a controlled substance (marijuana).
Remains in jail on $10,000 bond. • Demetrius
Jones, 44, of 7180 Hunter Horn Drive, Olive Branch, charged with sale
of a controlled substance (cocaine). Remains in jail without bond. • Earnestine McCrary, 45, of 1299 Hernando Road, Holly Springs, charged with perjury. Remains in jail on $5,000 bond.
