Parks and recreation offering dance classes
The Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department announces dance lessons are available at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Center for girls only, ages 7-14.
All interested persons are invited to attend an interest meeting on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Center, 235 North Memphis Street. Classes will begin in February. For more information, call recreation director Ken McMullen at 252-4807.
Luncheon Thursday; ‘Fun-Raiser’ Feb. 20
The Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce will host its General Membership Luncheon Thursday, Feb. 11.
The luncheon will be held at The Flame, Byhalia United Methodist Church, 2511 Church Street. It is sponsored by Citizens Bank (Byhalia, Barton, Olive Branch and Victoria branches).
Guest speaker will be Phil Malone, mayor of the Town of Byhalia. Check-in begins at 11:15 a.m. with networking and displays. The buffet lunch will start at 11:45 a.m. The program is set from 12:10 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Reservations are required by Tuesday, Feb. 9. Call 662-838-8127.
The cost at the door, for those without reservations, or guests, is $8.
Also, the chamber’s Mardi Gras Fun-Raiser will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Thistledome Inn.
Activities will include “Taste of the Chamber,” a silent auction, door prizes, king and queen costume contest, dance music by Papa Don McMinn and Nightrain and more.
There will also be a “Lucky Last Draw” with only 300 tickets sold. Last ticket drawn wins $500, and there will be 18 other prizes. Call 662-838-8127 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
With reservations, tickets are $15 per person; without reservations, $20.

Tournament start date changed to Wednesday
The Region 3-3A Basketball Tournament, hosted by Holly Springs, was postponed a day due to the weather.
Tuesday’s games (as seen on the schedule on page 1 of the second section) will be played Wednesday.
