December 16

• Relay for life meeting Thurs., Dec. 16 at 5:15 p.m. at the Marshall County Library. All team captains are asked to be present. If you don’t have a team and are interested in learning more about this fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society, please come to the meeting. December 17

• “Pathway to Jesus” Dec. 17-18, Bridgeway Baptist Church, 107 Taska Rd., Mt. Pleasant. The program is an interactive live nativity. Free refreshments. Tours begin every 15 minutes, average tour length, 45 minutes.

• CHRISTMAS PRESENTATION Friendship Christian Academy presents their annual Christmas presentation “Cradle that Rocked the World”, 6:30 p.m. Come early for seating. This year the students will have your heart as they perform. The school is located on Hwy. 78, exit 18 at Victoria.

• reception in memory of Tommy Earl Davis will be held at the Ida B. Wells Museum, 220 N. Randolph St., Dec. 17, 12 noon to 3 p.m. Friends and family will be speaking and refreshments will be served.

December 18

• Christmas gala Pleasant Hill CME Church, Sat., Dec. 18, at Mt. Pisgah CME Church in Cayce, 6 p.m. Rev. Ladaryl Odum of St. Mark MB Church, Collierville, Tenn., will be the guest, along with other entertainment. Rev. Willie Hoey, pastor. Everyone is invited.

• Benefit program Mt. Teamer CME Church, 813 Musgray Rd., Holly Springs, will host a benefit program for Roger L. Walton on Dec. 18, 6 p.m. Many choirs and groups are invited.

• Christmas social Faith Baptist Church, Saturday, December 18

6-8 p.m., 3974 Hwy. 309 N, Barton. Christmas social and singing hymns and carols. Fellowship and dessert. All are invited.

December 19

• Christmas presentation Kimbrough Chapel Baptist Church, 9 a.m. Charles Ambrose, superintendent, Rev. J.W. Smith Jr., host pastor.

• Children’s Christmas program Emory Independent Methodist Church, Dec. 19, 6 p.m. This event is always charming!

• Christmas celebration Yarbrough Chapel CME Church will be at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab, Holly Springs, Dec. 19, 2:30 p.m. You are welcome to come take part. Pastor, Rev. Jerry Christian Jr. Sponsored by the Sunday school.

• TWELVE TRIBES The Mt. Sinai C.O.G.I.C. of Mt. Pleasant will be having a Twelve Tribes of Israel Program, 3 p.m. Special guests will be Pastor Arthur Fitchpatrick and the New Way Of Living M.B. Church of Memphis. Everyone is invited. Pastor is Elder Curtis Pritchard Sr.

• MUSICAL Friendship Assembly of God Victoria invites you to come and join in a morning of worship as the music ministry presents “Bringing Christmas Home” at 10 a.m.

• Men’s Bible study All men are invited to Bible Study each Monday night at Fellowship Baptist Church, located three miles north of Byhalia on Byhalia Road. For more information call Wade Crum, pastor, 901-825-7166.

• Santa Claus will be at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building, Mon., Dec. 20, 6 p.m. Prizes and candy will be given away. This is for children ages 10 and under. Come and see Santa dance.

December 22

•“OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS” Friendship Assembly of God in Victoria invites you to come and join in an evening of caroling in the Byhalia, Victoria Community. There will be hot cocoa, sounds of Christmas cheer and laughter of children as we serenade the community with songs of the season. Holiday trailer of carolers will be leaving the church at 6 p.m.

• The Dulcimers meet at the Marshall County Library 1 p.m., the second and fourth Thursday of each month.

December 24

• Fun day The Eddie Lee Smith 4-H Club is hosting a “members of the community -- making your best better day,” Dec. 28, 10 a.m-3 p.m. at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building. Short talks on bullying and self-esteem, fun and games, crafts, other recreation. Free admission, lunch included. Hosted by the Eddie Lee Smith 4-H Club.

December 31

• Watch night Annual watch night service, Kimbrough Chapel Church, 10 p.m. Rev. J.W. Smith Jr., host pastor.

• Watch Night Service Friendship Baptist Church, Old Hernando Road, begins 7 p.m. Four different preachers will preach. Refreshments will be served. Bro. Justin Haynes, pastor, and congregation invite all to attend.

• Recovery Meeting SOS Christian Recovery Ministries will host a group meeting Friday evenings at 6 p.m. The group’s primary focus is drug addiction, alcoholism and the affected families. There will be a group for family members to learn how to cope and heal from the destructive behavior of an addict or an alcoholic in the family. • CEMETERY MAINTENANCE Spring Hill Baptist Church has started a maintenance fund for cutting grass in the cemetery.
