Lady Cardinals win 76-51

The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals picked up their 20th win of the season last week.
Coach Tana Miller’s team used a strong 26-6 run in the fourth quarter to blast Blue Mountain 76-51. They improved to 20-4 overall and 6-2 in Region 2-1A with the road win.
The Lady Cardinals led 16-12 after one quarter, 32-31 at the half and 50-45 following three periods.
Kenyotta Jenkins and Niesha Stinson put on a scoring show for Potts Camp. Jenkins had 29 points and Stinson 24.
The Lady Cardinals entered this week with two very important district games remaining. They visited Myrtle Tuesday. Then they host county rival H.W. Byers, unbeaten in district play, on Thursday.
The Potts Camp boys lost a close one, 66-64, to Blue Mountain on Tuesday of last week.
The Cardinals were down 18-7 after one quarter and 37-26 at the half. They outscored the Cougars 38-29 in the second half but came up short.
LaDarrius Beard gunned in a game-high 31 points for Potts Camp. JaVaughn Jones added 15.
The Cardinals fell to 10-13 overall and 3-5 in district play.
Potts Camp closes out the regular season Friday with a trip to Middleton, Tenn.
The Lady Cardinals and Cardinals will play in the Region 2-1A Tournament next week at West Union.
