 | Authories shut down puppy farm Ninety-five dogs and one cat were seized from a residence at 210
Turner Cove near Red Banks Thursday, according to Tim Rickey with the
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals-New York. An
investigation was initiated by county prosecutor Shirley Byers with the
Marshall County Sheriff's Department serving the search warrant. Animals
will be distributed to Humane Society shelters in Marshall County and
Collierville, Tenn., after all medical examinations are completed,
probably beginning Saturday, February 6, he said. Some animals may be
taken to larger shelters, as far away as Atlanta, because the capacity
at local shelters will be insufficient to house all the dogs. See full story in next week's paper. |
