Legal NoticesNOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT The USDA, Rural Utilities Service has received an application for financial assistance from the City of Holly Springs. As required by the National Environmental Policy Act and agency regulations, the Rural Utilities Service has prepared an Environmental Assessment that evaluated the potential environmental effects and consequences of the proposal. This notice announces the availability of the Environmental Assessment for public review and comment. The proposed Wastewater Treatment Improvements Project will serve all of the City of Holly Springs wastewater customers. The project shall consist of installing surface aerators, replacing existing synthetic baffle, sand filters and chlorinator/de-chlorinator chamber. These improvements will allow the City of Holly Springs to meet the NPDES Permit as issued by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, December 2009. The project is located southwest of the corporate limits of Holly Springs and west of Mississippi Highway 78, known as Rocky Mountain Lagoon.
