• Community choir rehearsal Asbury United Methodist Church, full choir, 7 p.m.

• The Dulcimers meet at the Marshall County Library at 1 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of each month.

December 10

• Retirement party for Judge Henry Lackey, Fri., Dec. 10, 2-4 p.m. at Calhoun City First Baptist Church. All are invited.

• Talent contest Holly Springs High School, sponsored by the PTSA, 6:30 p.m.

December 11

• Christmas tea Dec. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. there will be a Christmas Tea in the fellowship hall at the Victoria UM Church. All the ladies of the community are invited to attend.

• Breakfast with Santa, 7:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Santa will arrive on the fire truck at Cayce Fire Station, 30 Lee Creek Road. Breakfast with Santa, $5 per person. Photos with Santa, $5 per print. Santa has other boys and girls to see, so he must leave promptly at 11 a.m.

• Sunday School night Kimbrough Chapel Baptist Church, 6 p.m. with guest teachers and superintendents. Charles Ambrose, superintendent. Rev. J.W. Smith Jr., host pastor.

• Breakfast with Santa, Emory Independent Methodist Church, Dec. 11, 8-11 a.m., $5 for breakfast, $5 for photos.

• Founder’s Day banquet The 11th annual Mississippi Industrial College Alumni Association, Inc. (MICAAI) Founder’s Day Banquet will be held Sat., Dec. 11, 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 280 Marathon Way, Southaven. This is the 105th Founder’s Day observance historically.

• Pancake breakfast The Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church is celebrating Christ’s birthday. Come and join them for a pancake breakfast with Santa, December 11, 8-10 a.m. The church is located at Hwy. 311 and Mt. Pleasant Road, three-fourths a mile from Hwy. 72. • Santa visits Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church welcomes Santa Claus to the community of Mt. Pleasant from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. Bring your camera and your wish list. It is free and open to the public.

• CHRISTMAS PROGRAM The adult choir of Emory Independent Methodist Church will present their Christmas program in the 11 a.m. service.

• Appreciation program Mt. Sinai COGIC, Mt. Pleasant, for Minister Raymond and Jorina Pritchard, Sun., Dec. 12, 3 p.m. Special guests will be Elder Napoleon LeSeuer and the Tabernacle of Prayer Overcoming Church of Holly Springs and the Faith Heritage COGIC of Lamar. • Thanksgiving/Christmas Dinner Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, located at 2641 Laws Hill Rd., Sun., Dec. 12. Everyone is invited to join us. • Nativity service Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church presents their Nativity Service at 11 a.m. It will feature a live nativity scene and the community is invited to attend.

• Benefit program sponsored by The Silver Stars and Great Wings of Joy, for Timothy Sims, 6 p.m., Sat., Dec. 12, at Calvin Chapel United Methodist Church.

• “SHARE OUR JOY” The Baptist Children’s Village has been selected to be the recipient of “Share Our Joy.” The families of Friendship Assembly of God began this campaign many years ago. • In concert The Byhalia High School band presents “The Joyous Sounds of Christmas,” with Galena Middle School concert band and choir, jazz saxophonist Angela Luster and jazz bassist, Mitchell Player, as special guests. Mon., Dec. 13, 6 p.m. at the Byhalia High gym. There is a $5 charge.

December 14

• Relay for life meeting Thurs., Dec. 16 at 5:15 p.m. at the Marshall County Library. All team captains are asked to be present. If you don’t have a team and are interested in learning more about this fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society, please come to the meeting. December 17

• “Pathway to Jesus” Dec. 17-18, Bridgeway Baptist Church, 107 Taska Rd., Mt. Pleasant. The program is an interactive live nativity. Free refreshments. Tours begin every 15 minutes, average tour length, 45 minutes.

• CHRISTMAS PRESENTATION Friendship Christian Academy presents their annual Christmas presentation “Cradle that Rocked the World,” 6:30 p.m. Come early for seating. This year the students will have your heart as they perform. The school is located on Hwy. 78, exit 18 at Victoria.

December 18

• Christmas gala Pleasant Hill CME Church, Sat., Dec. 18, at Mt. Pisgah CME Church in Cayce, 6 p.m. Rev. Ladaryl Odum of St. Mark MB Church, Collierville, Tenn., will be the guest, along with other entertainment. Rev. Willie Hoey, pastor. Everyone is invited.

• Benefit program Mt. Teamer CME Church, 813 Musgray Rd., Holly Springs, will host a benefit program for Roger L. Walton on Dec. 18, 6 p.m. Many choirs and groups are invited.

•“OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS” Friendship Assembly of God in Victoria invites you to come and join in an evening of caroling in the Byhalia, Victoria Community. There will be hot cocoa, sounds of Christmas cheer and laughter of children as we serenade the community with songs of the season. Holiday trailer of carolers will be leaving the church at 6 p.m.
