Sam and Sarah were one of the most interesting and unusual church couples I ever knew. They lived outside this county, and I doubt anyone who reads this column will have known them. Otherwise I would not write what I am about to say, for they were modest people — the sort who would be embarrassed to be singled out in any way.

Come together:
Dear Editor,

While getting my weekly haircut, my barber informed me of recent events in Holly Springs, with all the other problems, that we now have a group of young idiots who call themselves the Black Out Squad.

I am told that this same group of young men was involved in an altercation on the campus of Rust College. I would like to say to the citizens of Holly Springs, Marshall County, that this situation needs to be nipped in the bud.

I call on all citizens to come together and deal with this situation before it gets out of control. I call on the police department and the sheriff’s department to crack down on this group with the citizens of Holly Springs 100 percent behind them.

Soldiers and Santa

Santa poses with troops in the Mississippi National Guard Hernando and Holly Springs units during a recent event in their honor hosted by the Clydesdale Christmas Store. The dinner and other activities were held at the Collins-Hurdle VFW Post 5697 in Holly Springs.
