911 director Stacey Reed reported to the board of supervisors recently
there is a problem with compliance to posting 911 addresses in some
areas of Marshall County. Some homeowners who add more mobile homes to their lot will not accept new 911 addresses for the added homes, she said. Full Story

A truly robust crowd of “characters” turned out for the first annual Holly Springs Main Street awards ceremony November 9. Spirit
built all year long for a number of Main Street projects as the
implementation of the program got off the ground. Dozens were
recognized for their contributions since the inception of the program
three years ago when Main Street was organized through a joint effort

brother of a man who pled guilty to the assault of a 91-year-old woman
in her home last January was found not guilty by a Marshall County jury

Three killed in accidents over weekend in county By SUE WATSON Staff Writer A
Memphis, Tenn., woman was killed in a head-on collision with an
18-wheeler Friday morning, according to deputy coroner John Garrison. He
said Lora Sandridge, 64, was eastbound on Highway 78 in her Toyota
Camry when a west-bound 18-wheeler crossed the median and collided with

Colhoun, a long-time Holly Springs alderman and former family business

IRS seeks to return checks • Sum of $16,997 in Marshall County The
Internal Revenue Service is looking to return $164.6 million in
undelivered refund checks. A total of 111,893 taxpayers are due one or
more refund checks that could not be delivered because of mailing

Byhalia policemen respond to 42 calls The Byhalia Police Department responded to 42 calls during the past week. Chief
Gary Looney released the following report – alarm calls, 5;
miscellaneous, 12; escorts, 12; disturbances, 1; assists, 2; motor
vehicle accidents, 1; fires, 2; and medical, 7. Byhalia police officers also made four arrests during the past week.
