Oscar Tilden Ash
Oscar Tilden
Ash, 93, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Potts Camp, died Nov. 4, 2010,
at Baptist East Hospital. He was the widower of Rea Ash. He was a
member of Chewalla Primitive Baptist Church, a farmer and a veteran of
World War II. Services were held at 11 a.m. on
Nov. 6 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Chewalla
Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Potts Camp. Elder Jerry Wise, elder Mark
Quarles, elder Grady Camp and elder Gary Rhodes officiated. He
leaves his wife, Joyce Nolen Ash; three sons, Jimmy Ash of Waterford,
Donnal Ash of Potts Camp, Kenneth Ash of Oxford; four stepchildren,
Jimmy Tapp of Nesbitt, Michael Tapp of Olive Branch, Bill Tapp of
Ripley, Linda Anderson of Williams, Iowa; a brother, J.M. “Flick” Ash
Sr. of Potts Camp; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one

Minnie
Lee Hoey Barksdale, 80, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 5, 2010 at her
home. A member of True Vine MB Church, she was on the church Mother
Board. She was a retired floral designer at Jennie’s Flowers in Holly
Springs. Visitation will be Nov. 12, 2-7 p.m. at
the funeral home, with the family receiving visitors from 6-7 p.m. and
on Nov. 13, from 1:30-2:25 p.m at the church. Services will be held at
True Vine MB Church at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 13, with burial in Cottrell
Memorial Garden. Rev. Darryl Cunningham will officiate. J.F. Brittenum

three sisters, Verleese Hoey, Josie Brown, both of Holly Springs, Edna
Hoey of Aurora, Ill.; five brothers, Eddie Lee Hoey of Aurora, Willie
H. Hoey, Sammie Hoey, Joe Cecil Hoey, Charles Hoey, all of Holly
Springs; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Rudy Don Fletcher Rudy Don Fletcher, 61, of Lamar, died Nov. 2, 2010. He was a mechanic with Fletcher Wrecker Service. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 5 at Slayden Baptist Church, where he was
a member. Burial was in the Slayden Cemetery. Bro. Kevin Crofford, Bro.

wife, Pam Fletcher; two sons, Rudy Shawn Fletcher, Terry James

Edward Gary, 65, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 3, 2010, at Baptist
Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Phi Beta Sigma
Fraternity, Inc., State and National Education Association and a
retired school teacher with Holly Springs School District. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 9 at Asbury United Methodist Church, where
he was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Edward C.

Gary of St. Louis; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward L. Gary; and siblings Juanita Young, John Edward Gary and Pearlie K. Ward. Ricky Wayne Harris Ricky Wayne Harris, 55, of Potts Camp, died Nov. 3, 2010, in Holly Springs. He was Pentecostal. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 6 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery. He
leaves his mother, Geraldine Harris Pegram of Holly Springs; five
daughters, Resha Howard of Olive Branch, Summer Harris of Potts Camp,
Christina Harris, Crystal Harris, both of Walls, Amber Jones of
Collierville, Tenn.; a sister, Trish Gamblin of Corinth; and eight

Jeffries, 74, of Holly Springs, died Oct. 31, 2010, at Baptist Hospital
in Memphis, Tenn. He was a retired laborer with Marshall County. Graveside
services were held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 5 at Beverly Chapel CME Church

Holly Springs and an aunt, Mary B. Pegues of Holly Springs. Brandon Mallory Lyon Brandon
Mallory Lyon, 23, of Snow Lake, died Nov. 5, 2010, in Ashland. He was a
Baptist and a carpenter. He attended Briarcrest Christian School and
Christian Brothers High School in Memphis and graduated from Marshall
Academy in 2006. He was employed by Acoustics and Specialties in
Memphis. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov.
8 at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bro.

Helen
Cradler Wilson Miller, 95, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 3, 2010, at
Baptist Hospital-North MS in Oxford. She was the widow of George Wilson
and Elmer Miller. She was a church mother and church soloist. Visitation will be Nov. 12 from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home, and at the church on Nov. 13 from 10-10:55 a.m. Services
will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 13 at New Hope MB Church in Holly
Springs, where she was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Sylvester
Ludobbia Pegues, 47, of Holly Springs, died Nov. 1, 2010, at his home.
He was a disabled factory worker and former employee of Sherwin
Williams. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 6
at True Vine MB Church in Holly Springs, where he was a member. Burial
was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Darryl Cunningham officiated.
