changes Sunday; ‘fall back’ one hour
Daylight
Saving Time ends this Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 a.m. Remember to wind your
clocks back one hour prior to going to bed Saturday night.
Standard
Time will last only four months. Daylight Saving Time will return on
Sunday, March 13, 2011.
Notice:
early deadlines for next week’s paper
Veterans
Day is on a Thursday (November 11) this year which means early
deadlines for next week’s newspaper.
Deadline
for all classified advertising is this Friday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.
Deadline for all other advertising (display ads and legal notices) and
for all news and photographs is Friday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m.

The
newspaper will be distributed a day earlier than usual due to the
Thursday holiday.
The
same deadlines will also apply for Thanksgiving week – the November 25
newspaper.
Chamber
celebration Thursday in Byhalia
The
Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce will hosts its annual Chamber
Celebration Thursday of this week from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will be
held at BardenStone on Edwards Road.
Awards
will
be presented for Leader of the Year, Customer Service of the Year and
Board Member of the Year. There will be entertainment, lucky last draw,
silent auction, steak/ chicken dinner catered by T.J. Cates (Cates Meat
Market) and more.
The
event is open to the public – $20 each person with
reservation, or $25 without reservation.

Byhalia,
Holly Springs set Christmas parades
Christmas
parades are on the schedule for both Byhalia and Holly Springs.
The
Town of Byhalia will sponsor its first annual Christmas Parade on
Friday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m.

The
Holly Springs Christmas Parade, sponsored by the chamber of commerce,
will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m.
Grand
marshal this year is longtime Holly Springs alderman Garrie Colhoun.

544-6600. No four-wheelers or all-terrain vehicles will be allowed due
to safety issues.
