Runners going to state
Potts Camp cross country teams enjoyed success Saturday in the division meet at New Albany.
Both the Cardinals and Lady Cardinals finished second behind first-place teams from Myrtle.
Cards finish strong
Not too many football teams play two games in a school week, much less win them both. But that’s the way Potts Camp ended its successful season.
The junior varsity Cardinals beat Coldwater 14-0 on Monday night, Oct. 18, and then routed Jumpertown 50-12 just three days later, Oct. 21.
Lions come up short vs. Houlka
The H.W. Byers Lions tried to scratch back Friday night versus another bunch of cats.
Trailing 13-0 entering the fourth quarter, they rallied for one touchdown but couldn’t get another and lost 13-6 to the Houlka Wildcats.

Hawks fall to ranked Tigers
Holly High tangled with a top-five-ranked group of Tigers Friday night and the result was a 62-0 district loss.
Marcus Autry, first-year head coach of the Hawks, said Charleston has a lot of speed but his team also contributed to the Tigers’ success with many mistakes - including a blocked punt and a couple of interceptions.
