• Fall festival Mt. Pisgah CME Church, 3877 Cayce Rd., Byhalia. Booths available. Rev. Eddie Joe Wilson is pastor.
• Haunted golf course, Kirkwood National, Oct. 28 and 31, 6:45-9 p.m. and from 6:45-10 p.m. on Oct. 29-30. Proceeds will benefit the Marshall Academy soccer team. There will be a concession stand, face painting and pumpkin painting. Haunted wagon ride (for a fee).
• Meeting The Marshall County Democratic Executive Committee will meet Thur., Oct. 29, 6 p.m. in Courtroom B.
• Haunted House Potts Camp will host a Haunted House Oct. 29 and 30, in the Volunteer Fire Department on Cardinal St., 6:30 p.m. The fire dept. is located behind the town hall. The public is invited.
• Fun fest Free for all! Prizes, games, surprises, food, lots of candy. Let’s have fun together! Anderson Chapel CME Church, 730 MLK Dr. Oct. 29, 6-9 p.m.
• BENEFIT PROGRAM A benefit program for Dorothy J. Stigall, who needs a kidney transplant, will be held at Mt. Sinai M.B. Church, Mt. Zion Road at Matthews Corner, 5 p.m. All donations can be sent to Citizens Bank in Byhalia, or mailed to Mt. Sinai Church at P.O. Box 69, Byhalia, MS 38611, in care of Dorothy Stigall Kidney Transplant Fund.
• Basketball registration The W.A.D.E.Y youth group will hold registration for girls basketball, ages 6-12, and group registration for boys and girls, ages 8-16. • Hallelujah night Newell Chapel CME Church, 3085 Moore Road, Victoria, will be hosting their annual Hallelujah Night starting at 5 p.m. Lots of fun, games, prizes and food for the children. All kids are invited.
• Fall festival Friendship Baptist Church, Old Hernando Rd., Sat., Oct. 30. Hamburgers and hot dogs at noon, followed by cake walk, banana eating contest, pumpkin carving, bouncing and more fun games. Bro. Justin Haynes, pastor, and congregation, invite all.
• Trunk or treat Slayden Baptist Church, Oct. 30, 5:30-8 p.m. Food, hayride, bouncy, door prizes and much more. Please wear a non-scary costume.
• BARBECUE A benefit is planned beginning at 9 a.m. in the Farmers’ Market parking lot in Byhalia. This benefit is a fund-raiser to help pay final expenses for Samantha Tilley-Nunley who passed away recently. Barbecue plates will be sold for $7 per plate. Donations are welcomed.
• Fall festival Hillcrest Baptist Church, Warsaw, Oct. 30 from 3-7 p.m. Food, fun, prizes, fellowship and music for everyone. Bring your family. Bro. Jim Buchanan, pastor.
• Get out the Vote Rally Oct. 30, 4-6 p.m. at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Building, 235 N. Memphis St. Candidates will be presented and given a brief opportunity to speak. State, county and local officials will be recognized.
• 2010 Women’s Conference St. Paul MB Church, Sat., Oct. 30, 9 a.m-2 p.m. Free and vendors are welcome. Brunch will be served. There will be many guest speakers. For more info. call 662-838-2841 or 901-692-7287.
• Homecoming Mt. Sinai COGIC of Mt. Pleasant will have annual homecoming day at 3 p.m. Special guests will be Elder Leon Gaston and the Powerhouse COGIC of Batesville; and the Concord MB Church of Lamar. All family, friends and former members are invited. Pastor is Curtis Pritchard.
• Harvest Festival, hosted by the Children’s Super Church of Friendship Assembly of God, will be held 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. The activities for this night are endless with carnival games, inflatables, challenges and so much more. We’re sure you’ll have a grand time. Admission for the evening is one bag of candy per child. Be sure to join us as we celebrate the bounty of the harvest.
• In concert Adolphus CME Church choir will be in concert, Sun., Oct. 31, 2 p.m., singing the old school songs. Everyone is invited. Pastor, Billy Williams.

• Meeting The Friends of the Marshall County Library will meet Tues., Nov. 2, at 11:30 a.m. for a meeting, and at 12 noon for a wonderful program with Mississippi author Dr. Mary Carol Miller and her new book, “Lost Mansions of Mississippi,” vol. 2. The public is welcome to the free program, and refreshments are served. So, go vote and then come to the library for a great program.

• Children’s party A pizza, game party will be held Friday. November 5 in the Victoria United Methodist Church fellowship hall for all children, ages 3 to 11 in the community. Time is 7-8:30 p.m. Come and enjoy a great time.

• Recovery Meeting SOS Christian Recovery Ministries will host a group meeting Friday evenings at 6 p.m. The group’s primary focus is drug addiction, alcoholism and the affected families.
