Riley Ann Armstrong
Riley
Ann
Armstrong, 58, of Montgomery, Ill., formerly of Holly Springs, died
Oct. 7, 2010, at her home. She was a member of New Covenant House of
Prayer and vice president of the usher board.
Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 16 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial was in McIntyre Cemetery. Rev. S.A. Phillips officiated.
She
leaves her husband, Oliver Armstrong; three daughters, Vicky M. Pryor
of Aurora, Ill., Sunada Armstrong, Sherice Armstrong, both of
Montgomery, Ill.; four sons, Conrad Armstrong of Atlanta, Ga., Trevor
Armstrong, Todd Armstrong, Daniel Armstrong, all of Montgomery, Ill.;
two sisters, Sunada Brookins of New Orleans, La., Shanna Pryor of
Aurora; five brothers, LaFerry Pryor, Ernest Dean, Terrence Pool,
Jeroloyd Pool, Sammie Pool, all of Aurora; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers
were C.J. Armstrong Sr., Trevor Armstrong, Jalen Armstrong, Sammie
Pool, Terence Pool Sr., Ernest Dean, Jeroloyde Pool and Laferry Pryor.
Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Armstrong, Tony Childress, C.J.
Armstrong Jr. and Jr. Hemingway.
Larry Billingsley
Larry
“Loafer” Billingsley, 64, of Harmontown, died Oct. 15, 2010, at his
home. He was a Baptist, a heavy equipment mechanic and served in the
National Guard.
Graveside
services were held at
10 a.m. on Oct. 19 at Harmontown Cemetery. Bro. Raymond Paisley
officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He
leaves his wife, Anita Billingsley; a son, John Billingsley of
Harmontown; a daughter, Mickie Billingsley of Victoria; three brothers,
Gerald Billingsley of Southaven, B.B. Billingsley of Coffeeville,
Kenneth Billingsley of Senatobia; two sisters, Elizabeth Tomlin of
Harmontown, Shirley Billingsley Davis of Oxford; and five
grandchildren.

Lee Andrew Caradine
Lee
Andrew Caradine, 59, of Byhalia, died Oct. 14, 2010, in Southaven. He
was a factory worker.
Services
will be held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 23 at Miracle Temple COGIC in Victoria.
Burial will be in Wyattes Community Cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home is

Avant of Senatobia, Eula Finch, Dorothy Smith, both of Memphis, Tenn.;
six brothers, Leroy Caradine of Olive Branch, Eddie Caradine of
Matteson, Ill., Michael Caradine, Mark Caradine, both of Byhalia, Lee
Caradine, Walter Caradine, both of Senatobia; 14 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
George W. Gardner
George
W. Gardner, 67, of Byhalia, died Oct. 15, 2010. He enlisted in the U.S.
Marine Corp in 1960 and retired in 1980. He served in Okinawa,
California, North Carolina and Tennessee and retired in Hawaii. After
retirement, he worked civil service with the U.S. Army, and for Dobbs
Corporation in San Francisco and Atlanta. Later, he worked as a driver
for Roadway, retiring in 2009.
Private
services will be held for the family only. Brantley Funeral Home will
be in charge of arrangements.
He
leaves his wife of 48 years, Julia McDaniel Gardner; four children,
Angela Jane Gardner of Byhalia, Robin Gardner Montgomery of
Collierville, Tenn., George Michael Gardner of Byhalia, Juan Carlos
Montgomery of Fallbrook, Calif.; a brother, Tommy A. Gardner of Reno,
Nev.; half-brother, Billy Gardner of South Rockwood, Mi.; and five
grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Hagmaier.
Harold Blake Palmer
Harold
Blake Palmer, 76, of Waterford, died Oct. 4, 2010, at Alliance
HealthCare System in Holly Springs, A member of Springhill Baptist
Church, he was a retired Conservation officer with the Mississippi
Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and a veteran.
Services
were held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 7 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Rev. John Parker officiated. Holly
Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He
leaves his wife, Maxine Palmer; a son, Blake Palmer (Amy); a daughter,
Lisa Looney (Gary), all of Waterford; two brothers, Edward Palmer of
Collierville, Tenn., Billy Palmer of Mt. Pleasant; four sisters,
Shirley Brougher of Brandon, Ella Quay Anglin of Memphis, Tenn.,
Charlene Rogers of Columbia, Tenn., Annette Teague of Memphis, seven
grandchildren, Brandon Leak, Jamye Leak Thweatt, Zachary Looney, Zane
Looney, Hunter Palmer, Cade Palmer and Cole Palmer; and three
great-grandchildren, Preston Leak, Claire Lake and Jack Leak.

Sue Pritchett, 52, of Ripley, died Oct. 15, 2010.

employed at The Tupelo Plywood company for years.

Lee Scruggs, 65, of Ashland, died Oct. 11, 2010, at her daughter’s home
in Tiplersville. She was the widow of J.W. Scruggs.

the church cemetery. Rev. Lee Edward Gill and Rev. Thompson officiated.
